The falls are on my list too. Let me know what your schedule is. I'd be very interested.

A few of us are going to Iguazu on the back end, I think Wednesday to Friday. Tenmoc +gf and me so far.

Spiff Nov 13, 2007 8:35 pm

Damn that work thing. I really want to do the Falls, but only have 2.5 days in Argentina.

UCBeau Nov 13, 2007 8:38 pm

I'd be game to arrive a few days early too, in order to get more time in to see the sights.

From the '07 pics, the falls are a 'must see', so count me in either before or after.

szg Nov 14, 2007 3:27 am

Also interested to see the falls before the DO.

Yup. I'm heading up on the 4th and back on 6th to catch the Saturday night flight back to NY.

I've booked the Libertador also. Is there a chance for a group rate in EZE?

I don't know that anyone has every tried to grab a group rate down here before. But as it looks like this year's is going to be even larger it might be time to start.

I stay locally in an apartment as the hotels are the only thing in BsAs priced like they're in dollars instead of pesos. But this could probably help a bunch of people.

Are there apartments for rent by the week down there, somewhere close to the festivities? That may be another option for those staying longer.

If it's Starwood, I'd consider joining in on a group rate!

It is a Starwood (Sheraton) property.

For Starwood fans I was able to book the Park Tower on a reasonable cash and points rate. I also booked my flight last night - was able to score a saver rate of 89k (Usair miles) for business class on UA. I figured it was a good deal but I've got just about zero experience on UA.

Yes. There are several companies that do this. I always have used www.bytargentina.com just because someone i knew here in NY had used them. I've used them 3 of my 4 trips down now and trying to book for this week now as well.

Almost all have a week minimum but most will charge you the week price and let you leave early. I did that this past year.

The useful links forum in the Argentina travel forum has several sites you can try.

As for near the festivities? This is a bit more difficult because we seem to travel around the city a bit. But run what you find by us here and we should be able to get you a better answer based on what you find.

Does anyone here wish to look into a group rate at the Libratador for the group?

I would. It seemed to be party central last time. :)

Looks like I will be there an extra day this time ... arrive on Friday morning and leave Tuesday evening. I might be interested in a trip to the falls at the end of the trip (Sun-Tues).

It would be great if we could work in an estancia trip on Friday this time.

UCBeau Nov 15, 2007 10:26 am

I'd be down for a group rate at the Libratador.
