Continental will be operating twice daily direct between EWR and EDI in May. Fares quoted are in the region of $665 including taxes etc in coach. Much cheaper than DL but I cannot vouch for the quality of CO's mojitos

Put me down as a maybe for now. I should be ok, but need to double check.

Chance to use some free GNER vouchers up to Edinburgh at least...

On excitedly informing Mrs RAPC of the chance for a weekend break just now, she was good enough to point out the error of my ways.

I had forgotten 2 small things in my excitement to put me down as a possible:

1) It is my wife's birthday that weekend
2) I've already booked for us to stay in London that weekend

Which when added together makes me an absolute idiot.

Sorry I can't make it, which I'm gutted about. Have a great time, hope you get the picnic sorted and enjoy yourselves!

sadly that's the same weekend as a sports injury conference i'm involved with kicks off in Aviemore - not far up the road. Would have been good to meet other FTs - many of whom have been so helpful to me. Ah well, next time - have fun and fingers crossed for the weather and the tides....Years ago, i got caught out by the tide at Plockton whilst romancing on a gorgeous summer's day...me and the g/f at the time ended up having to wade back to shore in waist deep water much to the amusement of the assembled locals....so make sure those timetables are correct!

I get really, really, really old that month, so I think this might be a way to kick off the month of celebration before I die on the 31st.

Please put me as maybe. Depends on a few things, but this is on my calendar.

Edit: Ack! Mother's Day! I have a few months to come up with an excuse! :fret:

Put me down as an almost certain.

It will have to be First ScotRail for me though, unless bmi launch their new DND-EDI service by then!

Chances are they will announce it, postpone it, commence it and run it for about 5 days and then cancel it due to lack of demand. All without actually updating the website to allow you book it in the first place.

You might strike it lucky in the 5 day window. (I'd book the train though...)

It would be wonderful if you could make it Wireless ^

This year Mother's Day will be celebrated in the UK on 18 March. Do you think you might be able to claim diminished responsibility on the grounds of cross cultural confusion?

Prospero,

Unfortunately there is no way that I/we could possibly be in EDI in May. We will be in town for two nights in Feb (6th & 7th) if you or anyone else are going to be around.

Just a thought.

No.

Let me think about that again...

No.

As a do organiser, I think Prospero has a duty to protect the attendees by ensuring they don'tend up in either Espionage, CC Blooms or Havana - particularly after the infamous windmill dancing incident... and the infamous descending tour incident.. and the infamous sticky table incident...
