Thanks for the well-wishes. I just heard (through my feverish brain) my own mom telling me that you don't RSVP for dinner then not show up.
So when will a get together happen again? I have but one appendix to give for my country and it's gone now.

Let's pick a date and place for civicmon. We want to give ML a good advance notice.

A location to consider for a SAN dinner, especially if Mr. SanDiego1K has to run to the airport 2 or 3 times during the meal, is The Boat House on Harbor Island. Can't get much closer to the airport!
The view of the marina and Pt. Loma is spectacular, interior pleasant (white tablecoths) , quiet enough to converse, and staff great, but food isn't spectacular IMHO.
HOWEVER, on Wednesdays they have $11.95 whole Maine lobster, with rice pilaf and a vegetable. ($24.95 any other night.) I don't eat seafood but waiter kindly brought me the off-menu Boathouse Burger with fries for $8.95. Other options are pastas and chicken for $18-25, seafood and steak entrees $25-30. (Friday night is $11.95 prime rib.)
They take reservations for groups, and may still be in the Entertainment Book, but I don't think the lobster special qualifies for EB.
Just an idea to store away in our communal memory. Better parking than Old Town and Little Italy.
