It was really hectic at Clydes, I met Alpha Golf and Chartreuse(at Chipotles at about 9pm).

Clydes was really packed and I forgot to mention I was deaf so I could only use text messaging I feel bad and I could have sworn I "saw" you in the upstairs bar when I was talking to Alpha Golf on my sidekick II.

There's always next time man and I ll be sure to pick a less packed place

Wow, I was unaware. I saw the post about text but when I called, thought it was your home number, not cell. I guess note to myself, open mouth- insert foot.

Sorry to miss everyone. I had driven into the city earlier so unfortunately had to bring car as my garage closed at 8 and did not want to rush back.

I don't mind happy hour in Chinatown, think it is very central and has many places, but next time let's plan when there is a not a basketball or hockey game.

I'm here until Sat. AM, with plans tomorrow. Heard nothing about anything this week. I'll be back in the second half of January.

As I mentioned to headinclouds offline, I'm planning on offering to host another happy hour at Five Guys in Georgetown when I cross over the 1MM threshold. Currently at 837K, should be sometime in 1Q or 2Q. I may even have a vintage champagne dug up to celebrate the occasion.

I don't have anything on the cards for this month headinclouds. Hardly been around.

Anybody else wanna try putting something together?

Pizzaman - nice to see you back here! How is life as 3? :-)

And Wow - I am surprised after last time you are still willing to host us. ^^

Been too long since I was at a HH. We definitely need to get something together soon.

Congratulations on almost getting there! Is this 1MM banked or flown??

As for Happy Hours, I figured I'd bump this up...December's pretty much over with all the holidays, etc, but Charles & I were talking the other day wondering when the next one is. I'm out of the country for Jan 5-23, so sometime at the end of Jan or sometime in Feb would work for me if anyone wants to plan something...

Happy Holidays everyone!

Most of my lifetime miles are from other sources, since I've barely flown the last two years with the business and the baby.

Happy Holidays to all!! I look forward to seeing each of you in the New Year!

I'd just like to throw out a suggestion for a future happy hour (doesn't matter when) or event. Since we've had numerous good events at various Clydes, there is a brand new Clydes in Ashburn/Broadlands right off the Dulles Greenway. It is beautiful.

Clydes Willow Creek Farm

^ ^

So next time we're thinking about western Northern VA...

I ought to be in the area late Jan. Either the 19th or 26th should work for me.

Last edited by Global_Hi_Flyer; Dec 23, 2006 at 4:12 pm Reason: Correct date. Departing DC on the 27th.

Since I somehow made off with a good portion of a very nice red after the last 5Guys party, I'd like to bring a bottle along for the next one. Is that allowed?

It's that time of year again ... if anyone wants to organize one of these things, set up the reservation FIRST and then get your participants lined up otherwise there is no guarantee (even now) that there will be availability for where you're going. I recommend smaller parties just to make it easier to get the reservations set up. Enjoy.

Washington DC Restaurant week ... January 8-14

Lunch: restaurants that will offer a 3-course fixed-price
lunch special for $20.07

Dinner: restaurants that will offer a 3-course fixed-price
dinner special for $30.07

Given the timing, I only have one night available to enjoy Restaurant Week. Following my usual approach to try somewhere I haven't been before and possibly would not visit ... I made the following reservation for 8 people.

Anyone else interested in joining me?

January 9, 2007 Tuesday @ 7 pm
Fourth Estate Restaurant at the National Press Club
529 14th Street, NW
Public Transit: Take Metro to the Metro Center Station. We are located on the corner of 14th and F. Enter on the 14th street side under the awning for the National Pres Building, and take the elevators to the 13th Floor. Ask the front desk attendant for the Fourth Estate Restaurant.

Parking: Public Lot

Parking Details: We offer parking during our dinner hours at the PMI Lot on 1325 G St, NW. Bring your ticket with you from the garage and we will gladly validate.
