I will be landing at Changi airport from Narita late night on the 10th United 891 (1K mileage run). I hate to arrive so late at night every time with these UA flights. If anybody is there at about the same time please send me a PM. Will be quite happy to meet SKL would be great. Thanks.

Don't let them leave NRT without me!!!!

MovieMan -- I have a 55 minute cnxn at NRT to UA891. This year the ORD-NRT flights have had a bit better record for OTDs than the ORD-HKG...but the last week for 881 ORD-NRT has not been a good one...

It will be good to see you again! Not since last SIN Do, I think?

Cheryl - yeah, the Raffles Long Bar I think, and we didn't get
a chance to chat much; we'll remedy that over adult beverages
in KL perhaps. Are you coming in the evening of the 10th? I'm on
the Other UA Flight (Hong Kong connection both ways, which is
silly as one of the reasons I was going at all was to enjoy the
Amazing Beer Machine). Do people have plans for midnight on
the 10th/11th? I was planning on just snoozing at the transit
hotel (maybe taking the bus tour if there's one at 6 am), but if
people are going out on the town, I might join them and just
stay up all night.

infoworks - as I plan on staying at the Ren, I may like to take
you up on the ride share (btw, check the prices there - what's
the catch with the low rate, are they renovating?)

= =

Correct me if I'm wrong - SQ 110 on 11/11 is the party flight,
with MovieMan, infoworks, KiwiFlyer, and myself, at least?

I don't like the Ren, it's location, access to taxis, etc, so can't advise on price, but it sounds good. All KUL hotels have been putting prices up of recent times to be more comprabale with SIN and because of the new convention centre that recently opened and has been busy bringing more people into their properties, especially hotels like RC, CP, Equatorial, Westin, Regent, Parkroyal and Concorde.

Sounds like the flight to be on! I have spare SQ premium cards for KUL immigration.

Quite a tight connection. If there's a 747 ahead of you, it's going to be even tighter reclearing security at NRT. Hopefully you get an agent who will walk you to the UGS/FC security line, which is supposedly much faster.

FYI, SQ 11 leaves later that evening out of NRT, should you miss you connection.

YGPM, but the short version is you're right on all counts. I liked NRT from the beginning because I knew I'd have SQ11 as a backup if I misconnected. But the problems are bigger than just the tight cnxn.

IIRC, the only good thing about staying at the Renaissance is its proximity to the Petronas towers. If you want to chalk up stay credit with Marriott, I suggest the Marriott at Bt Bintang. The location is unbeatable.

What's the rate you are getting with the Renaissance?

Dinner's set for 1930. It's a 2 buck cab ride from there to La Bodega in Bangsar. Just ask the cabbie. He'll know. Once you're in the Bangsar Area you can't miss it.

So who is going to be on UA 891 (nrt-sin) Nov. 10th?

My SWU upgrade has cleared for this section and also for my Frankfurt-SFO flight the day before.

I will be seating in the downstairs business class section. I am still waitlisted on UA 837 from SFO to NRT but it looks good as there seem to be plenty of unsold seats.

Well, yet another Do, I probably can not make it too. Yes, I actually have reservations to be there (Including the NRT-SIN party flight with CDG1 and CaWhite as well as the SQ Party flight the next day). I even got some good fares, and was able to confirm upgrades to F (how often does that happen?) and if I made the trip would actually cross the 1K threshold (I'd say that is the Trifecta in the FT world!). The chance to check out the 380 and the festivities that ShortFinals has planed, as well as the chance to meet some fellow FT'ers sounds great. I am afraid it is not in the cards though for me this time. Actually, holiday weekends (here in the US) are not the easiest times for me to get away. So, while I was never on any official list (red/green/yellow), I think it is best that it just stay that way for now. In my mind it is green, reality is it is probalby red and yellow just sounds so.......not green!

Peter, I was hoping you were going to be able to make this one -- keep trying As of yesterday my outbound routing is changed, and upgrades on all UA segments in both directions are cleared...supposedly... And I am booked on the NRT-SIN segment that CDG1 has booked, sitting upstairs.

Two weeks from tomorrow morning I'll be on my way!!!
