We satrted with a mini Do at the Encounter with peter11 who came from SBA (No wonder LAX was jammed. They secure the area for peter to visit. :p ).

It not just now, like I said, you've been on the way to Bali since May 29, 2005. :)

I discovered that it is not what I was expecting in one major regard. That created doubt about other information on which I had been relying. I don't go on vacations to maximize anxiety.

It was repeated stated that participation at the Mozaic dinner required a prepaid deposit via PayPal. After the deadline for the deposit had passed, it became known that the deposit could be paid other than by PayPal. The incorrect information was not corrected before the deadline even though it was known to some insiders that it was incorrect. Naturally, that leaves one wondering what other information about the Do might be incorrect, what other surprises lie waiting. Not my cup of tea.

I was expecting to be able to rely on the information provided.

I was serious. I bought an airline ticket and made a hotel reservation. I had every intention of attending until I found out that information I had relied upon was incorrect, had been known to be incorrect, could easily have been corrected but was not, and was even repeated after it was known to be incorrect. That's just not for me.

The deposit was requested to be paid by PayPal. Some of those who had issues with PayPal took the obvious step of PMing the organizers to ask for an alternative, and were given one. Why that conjures up images in your mind of hidden surprises that may "lie waiting," is beyond me. Sorry to be so blunt.

Edited to add: You also seem to forget that those FTers who are helping organize this event are simply doing it to be helpful, are not receiving any sort of compensation, and, frankly, deserve a little more gratitude than what you are providing in your posts.
