Mr. Megatop and I are pretty firmed up, but we're coming IN to Bali on the same same plane that will go OUT as the party flight on Sunday night. If anyone is staying at all longer (which might include some afflicted with, ahem, immigration problems--no names, please!), we'd be up for a get-together for drinks or whatevah.
Mr. Megatop soured on the Ritz last year (got REAL tired of being ignored in favor of me), so he booked us into the Chedi Club at Tanah Gajah near Ubud for four nights Sunday-Thursday, and The Legian for two nights, Thursday-Saturday. We'll head back to SIN on Saturday morning. We'll have about four hours, just enough to dash into the city for a spot of lunchy lunch in Smith Street before I head out on SQ 20.

Put me down as a maybe. Some arm twisting at SIN DO 2006 and a great fare on SK to BKK conviced me this is something I just may have to do, even if it would have to be only for the weekend.
Maybe fly to BKK on cheap SK fare and start a CRWSTAR there, hmmm....
Would love to make this happen!

I understand that the ATM has finally been installed at the Westin.
Cheryl, did Alex tell you he got a promotion to a Le Meridian in KUL effective January 16? No replacement yet.
RTW4 expressed an interest in joining the DO when I met him at the LAX mini-DO with OzStamps.

My flights are booked, and I've cleared the days at work. I'm now a definite, StarG.
I arrive one day early on Thursday (and will try to fast-track my way out of jetlag -- although jetlag might actually work to my advantage when the festivities begin), and will stay for an extra half-week. MegatopLover, I hope to meet you and Mr. Megatop for drinks at some point.

Great news jjpb3! My holiday request was just approved a couple weeks ago as well.
Diana - hadn't heard from Alex that his move was going to be a permanent one. Thanks for the updates.
Just over 4 months away!

ok
just read this thread and i think DPS is the correct airport?
could you please advice me which *carrier i can fly ? i could fly through HKG, SIN, BKK.
how hard is it to get an award seat on SQ in business without any SQ status?
does anybody now the cheapest ticket from SIN to DPS? i might use an C award to get to SIN or BKK and pay the rest of the trip to go to DPS.
thx

Was talking about vacation time with another one of managers where I work and he believes we should be able to take vacation time except during July and August. So I guess May should be fine
Will need to get approval from the big boss though. Anyhow I've got an award on hold in the party cabin

5/26 SQ 142
5/28 SQ 147
Was looking at the UA flights to/from SIN. What are they thinking with this

UA 890 SIN-NRT 7:20 AM - 3:25 PM B777
UA 852 NRT-SFO 4:15 PM - 9:23 AM B744
50 minute connection and not enough time for Fauchon
and the alternative
UA 890 SIN-NRT 7:20 AM - 3:25 PM B777
UA 838 NRT-SFO 6:00 PM - 11:13 AM B777

SIN is the best leaping-off point to reach DPS. TG flies six- or seven-times weekly BKK-DPS, whereas SQ flies three times daily. For a couple of different reasons, we'll be starting in BKK but taking SQ via SIN to DPS.
Even though we are four months out, I imagine that all of the savvy frequent fliers on this board attending the Do have already scooped up most of the award seats SIN-DPS, so you're probably best off booking in to SIN on an award and buying a ticket onward from there. SQ's website runs specials every now and again. You should get roundtrip for under $300 (US) no problem. Our tickets BKK-SIN-DPS are pricing out at just shy of $400.
jjpb3: Definitely looking forward to having a beverage with you in Bali. We'll be in the Ubud area for the first part of the week, but I'm sure we can find someplace fun. It will be good to have some encouragement to get us out of our hotel-- last year we had planned to hit some of the bars but gave up in favor of just chilling at the resort.
Let us know when you've picked your hotel.
All of that said, hopefully you'll get to meet Mr. Megatop in London in April.

Sign up for an ANA Mileage Club account and you can check award availability to partners (AMC and M&M seem to have the same availability at least, MP much less) here.
1 C seat just opened up on SQ142 on 26 May and SQ147 on 28 May if anyone is interested. Decided on a Y award instead on the same flights.
