I love pork stores! When you walk in, everything is so old world Italian. The North End of Boston has wonderful pork stores too. You have to be in real Italian neighborhoods to find them.

The strange thing is that I have never seen one in Italy. Yes, I have plenty of butchers that sell pork but none that sell only pork.

Gotcha Dov.... They don't only sell pork. The specialize in pork, but also sell meats and goodies. I found a very similar store in Rome near the spanish steps.

Ahhh, if the folks on the tour only knew just how close they were to culinary heaven.... Aliotta Bakery, Pastosa home made pastas & ravioli's, moretti's bread & Landi's pork store.

I'm getting famished just thinking about it. Thank goodness I'll be there this weekend!

Mary2e,

They were well fed and happy.
Next year, if you want, you can have some talk time while I sit down and relax.

ljp, I can't believe there's another way to eat a black and white.
And Dan got to re-explain it to me today -- thanks! I was in the city for the day and on our way back to LGA I ran into Ferrara for a few of those yummy mini-cannoli On the way out I saw black & whites by the register and grabbed a couple of those (one for me, one for the boss (waiting in the cab)). My first black & white from NY, yum! Next trip I"ll have to get them in Brooklyn

Ferraras

Jerrie and Magic trying to decide.

Punki and Hunki

Very pleasant day.

Sorry we missed your Do Catman. We will try for next year. Actually, we will be in NYC for my birthday and my annual Stage Deli pastrami reuben (the only red meat I eat all year long) in early June if you would care to join us.
