Wonder if U-Ridge has any group/outing discount? I know earlier there were several people interested so we might be able to try to get multiple tee times.

I'll put in a call to my cousin (who will kill me if I go play U-Ridge and don't invite him) as to which June Saturday he can get a day off.

Ok, I called and added the third for MKE-MR, it is going to be nice to meet you. I just wanted to add that I made a mistake, the $47 fee is without cart. The fee with cart is $65 and we can buddy up on carts.

$65 for twilight? That's a little high but not bad, Village Links has always had a better reputation than the other courses in Central DuPage. I've never played there because they won't slot singles in over the phone.
Directions from the North, as MapBlast's directions are POS:
294 South to 88 West to 355 North to Roosevelt/IL-38 West (left) to Park North (right) to 220 N. Park. Exact change needed at Roosevelt (I think it's 60 cents). Figure on 90 minutes from Mitchell Field if there's no traffic.

That's probably $65 including 1/2 cart... I'm definitely riding as I'm not yet in shape to both walk 18 and hold a semi-coherent conversation.
I don't drink alcohol on the golf course, so bring what you're gonna drink yourself. I'll take the lead in finding an after-round place for beer and food.
BTW, when is our tee time?

Our tee time is 2:00pm. I plan on being there at 1:00pm to putt around and relax. I hate showing up minutes before and being hurried to the tee.

I am so pumped for my first round of the year...
"This is a hybrid, its a cross of Bluegrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, Featherbed Bent, and Northern California Sensemilia. The amazing stuff about this is, that you can play 36 holes on it in the afternoon, take it home and get stoned to the bejeezus that night on this stuff." -Carl Spackler

My attempt at a first round two weeks ago was cancelled when we saw the whitecaps on Lake Michigan and the blowing snow flurries.

Yeah, but the course won. Too much water, not enough distance markers. I had the excuse of old age as I couldn't get my back loose for about five holes... by which point I had already made two quads, two triples, and a double.
I played pretty well for about nine holes after that, then the cold front came through and the temperature dropped to about 55 and I just wanted to get off the course.
I couldn't figure out if the waitress at Champps was pretending to be interested in FI-UAL or MKE-MR. But I got free bacon on my salad, so I was happy.

I shot a 101 with a 10, a 9 and 2 - 8's!
If I would've bogeyed those four holes, I would have shot a respectible 91.
Excluding those wild holes, I shot the ball pretty well and we certainly enjoyed the conversations. Very nice to meet Mark (MKE-MR) and to buy a round for Nick's b-day!
Overall, a great time was had. I felt pretty sick after that burger from Champps, my stomach churned all night. Looking forward to playing U-Ridge in June! Nick, shall I start a thread or do you want to?
