I won't be able to make it - for some reason I thought it was on Wednesday night (weren't we originally getting together last Wednesday - I thought we just pushed it forward a week!). I have someone from out of town visiting this week & we've got dinner plans in DC tonight.

Mmmmm, Coastal Flats, Pomegranate margaritas and flourless chocolate waffles... We'd love to come but have no where to dump the kid tonight. So jealous...

Hey, does the food really suck at Coastal Flats, like pranu says?

No! The folks in my office, and myself, like the food and menu quite a bit (Pranu's comment was the first time I heard anyone not say it was good). The comment I have heard, and share, is they are a little pricey for the area and what they offer but its not exorbitant and certainly hasn't stopped them from being crowded for most lunch & dinnertimes.
I believe Pranu is willing to give them another shot this evening, and have some food. Is that correct? ;) |

Yes. They are pricier than they should be. I had ordered the angel hair pasta with chicken breast - which I have quite often at Sweet Water Tavern (Sister restaurant) - and I honestly didnt like it as much. Of course my opinion was already colored unfavorably when 1. I asked them to substiture the green beans for another side and they refused 2. Instead when I asked them to bring me the dish without the green beans - then couldnt get it right and sure as hell the food came with the green beans! And now all of you know way more about me than you would care to - I despise green beans! :D
