Here's MileageAddict holding a small portion of said popcorn, ground into said floor. I imagine it got much worse in that suite (in many ways) after we left for the game, which the Cubs did, sadly, lose.

I had a great time meeting everyone - I'll miss you tomorrow (today?) because I'm heading to IAD with FlyinHawaiian about 2 hours from now to go back to LAX. This was my first FT DO, but I'm sure it won't be my last.

Boy....are my feet tired! :D

Wow...great party this weekend.

The Cub Fans with Fortitude Above and Beyond the Call of Duty Awards must go to jockdAAddy and ILuvParis, who went directly from Lauriol Plaza to the park in a brutal rainstorm (the likes of which only Noah would have recollection of) only to sit and wait three and a half hours for the game to start...while the rest of us sat back at the hotel watching the lightning storm and asssorted M*A*S*H reruns.

Nice meeting new FT'ers and hanging with "the usual suspects" again. Thanks to Spiff for cleaning up the in-suite popcorn detonation last night...and Mileage Addict...well, what can I say...payback's a you-know-what :D I am thankful that Homewood Suites does not have a minibar, and have made mental notes to pack up the laptop and have the front desk block porn from my TV before, shall we say, inviting guests "en masse" to the suite again. :)

HEY NOW!!!! I only made the popcorn, I can't control how much of it ends up on the floor with a group of slightly intoxicated Flyertalkers. Okay, maybe making 7 bags of microwave popcorn for a small group of people was a tad excessive....

Thank you everyone for making my Saturday night memorable. I had a terrific time getting to meet many of you for the first time as well as catching up with some of my very favorite people. Wow! Tazi is a real person. I actually got to meet her. It was very nice getting to meet AASweets and EdisonCarter. Both of you are now expected to attend SeaDo in August!

DLNewbie: What can I say? You da man! Well, dirty old man anyway. BAMAT: Damn girl, you can dance! Wireless: Is it possible to rent two different porno movies at the same time when the suite has two TV sets?
Spiff, GoingAway, Fred, Mark, Seeya and everyone else....thanks for the fun evening!

BoyAreMyArmsTired May 15, 2005 2:21 pm

That was fun! Thanks to Nick for putting up with all the baseball ticket nuttiness before the game, and for organizing us. Thanks to Tazi and HeadinClouds for organizing the Friday and Saturday festivities, and to GoingAway for the spy museum outing.

Where to start? I had such a great time meeting some new faces and seeing friends again. Bullfeathers on Friday night was lots of fun, even if it ended with a drunk bartender going a little postal.

Thanks for leaving your packing and coming with me to find a Starbucks on Saturday morning, Spiff. I understand that your lack of being able to check into the Sheraton until 4:00 this morning actually turned out to be a good thing. :)

MA, thanks for keeping me company on the train to the restaurant. I didn't realize that it rains sideways in DC. Next time, I'll remember to come a little more well prepared for that. And besides that, you were a most excellent dancing buddy.

Fredo, thanks for opening your room to the bunch of crazy people. As always, the host for the most. Oh, and Wireless, thanks for the tequila!

And to the late night dancing crew, thanks for letting me talk you into finding someplace to burn off all the good food from this weekend. That was so much fun. Oh, and Newbie, after seeing you dance, I think you might actually be black. I didn't buy it until that. :) I think "Love Shack" is always going to bring back a great image of the whole bunch of us on the dance floor.

I had a great time today at lunch with GoingAway and Wireless, and I especially appreciate GoingAway's efforts to come and get us, and then take us to the airport.

It's been a while since my last do, and I remember why I enjoy them so much. Safe travels home, everyone.

 You carry popcorn like an Italian using his hands to talk!

Nice meeting everyone. Fred, I hope your morning coffee didn't have a salty butter taste. New Starbucks blend?

So how was the end of the game? I went off to find the restroom and in search of food, but all the food vendors were closing and packing up. I ended up sitting in row 6 behind home plate for a bit, taking pictures, and then made a wrong turn and ended up exiting the stadium instead of going back up the ramp. But, as it turned out, the formal at the Armory was just letting out, so I ended up hanging out with some of the folks from that for a while. ;)

I was walking down 15th Ave (in front of the Washington Monument) this afternoon, and there's a cop stopping traffic and not letting any pedestrians cross the street. I figure it's just random mall-area security (lots of tourists in the vicinity) when all of a sudden, about 12 motorcycles come around the corner, followed by a couple police cars, some black SUVs, and the president's car (black SUV). President Bush had the windows open in the car, and was waving at the crowd. Pretty cool! :)

SkiAdcock May 15, 2005 8:46 pm

hmm, people forgot to mention the pocorn when i talked to them last night....:D

missydarlin May 15, 2005 9:24 pm

photos..... where are the photos?

GoingAway May 15, 2005 9:29 pm

A Blast as Always ....

What a great weekend!! ^ Thanks to ElmhurstNick for setting this up and ILuvParis for helping with the tickets. At least I got to see one game (with pictures to prove it), which is more than I can say for at least one of the rabid Cub fans that made it into town this weekend ;) The cubs even won the game I saw.

Great to see everyone - new faces and ones I'm familiar with. Come back and visit DC again soon - just let me catch up on a little sleep first.

Here are some pictures ... as always, hope the link works.

Couldn't Resist

I figured I'd post this since additions to this list have been popping in and out of my head all day ... (I believe I saw a similar post by GKG which gave me the idea)

As you knew, they weren't even selling beer anymore when we got there (in the 2nd inning) and almost everything else closed shortly after that. Pizza was about all that was left, and even that ran out eventually. ElmhurstNick managed to get a couple pieces for himself and his cousin, but had to wrestle the vendor for them. The Cubs lost, after the Nationals refused to make a bunch of bad plays to give them runs like they did Friday night.

EdisonCarter May 16, 2005 4:41 am

And my pictures...

Here are more pictures, of both FlyerTalkers and my time walking around on Friday and Saturday. (Sorry, no cops or firemen ;) )

I'd love to ^ , but SeaDo won't happen for me this year because I get back from Peru the day it ends (also ^ ). Maybe EZE for Labor Day or BCN for Halloween, though.

That would be me.... it was pretty cool meeting & hanging out with y'all this weekend, even though some people are the very definition of a fair-weather fan when it comes to baseball and rain :D :D

Dunno why it took me until now for my first Do, but let's just say that there will be plenty more for me..... hmmm, this is also post #666 for me, I wonder if that means anything....
