Meat & Malbec Fest 2005
There were quite a few conversations this weekend about doing another "Meat & Malbec Fest" in BsAs this year. We're looking at Oct 7-10 (Columbus Day weekend in the US) to celebrate spring in BsAs. We'll start a new thread as we get closer, but wanted to let everyone know of the approx dates as I had promised a few people this weekend. I suspect some will do 3-4 day trip and others will take advantage of the lower fares with a 6 night stay. I think some may also add on a 2-day trip to Iguazu Falls which anyone who's interested would be welcome to join.

We'd love to have you both! Tentatively plan on 7-10 October (Columbus Day weekend for those in the US) -- we'll have those dates firmed up in the next couple months. A few of us were talking about this in Singapore last weekend so I thought it a good time to bump up the old thread.
FYI, I haven't seen fares yet for October, but last year on UA it was expensive if you weren't going to be doing a 6-night stay. For 4-night stays, AA was pricing out slightly less than $1000 (ex-ORD) with a stop in GRU en route

American still has business class award seats on the MIA-EZE 777 for 10/7 and 10/10. Since I can do this for basically no vacation days, that weekend is still a possibility for me.
I'm short on vacation days this year because I'm saving up for HKG/SIN/SYD/AKL/MEL next year.

I know you guys had a great time in SIN, I'd have really liked it but I was in Ecuador and just came back yesterday. My niece's christening and 1st birthday party went really well, and she walks now.
Anyway, I'm in for those dates and will probably join the Iguassu trip, but there's also a possibility that I might go to Puerto Madryn instead. I'm undecided !
It would be great to see you guys again for dinner and lots of drinking ^
Btw, I completely forgot about this.. Do you still have the pics from the trip?? Let me know, I'd love to have a few.. Hablamos pronto !

)...I have to get Boris' CD finished before I make them public
Dinner one night is going to have to be at La Brigada since I missed it last time (and it was even my suggestion
), and some of those awesome empanadas at Campo Bravo. Oh heck...let's just try it all! And perhaps we'll pile more than two people in the booth at the locutorio this time?

Yeah, La Brigada was a really good restaurant, we eat a lot there and had lots of fun.. I'm glad to hear you'll stay more than a few days in Argentina.
More than 2 people in the booth??

Well I was quite interested in doing this - until I heard about the 6-day stay restriction. So Im a maybe. My Dos are long weekends - not almost a week! And a good friend has a bday party in Tiburon that weekend; if this falls through, guess I'll have to slum it there
. I have this in the calendar in pencil, but if airfare is still 1K$+ I'm out.
Cheers. Sharon
