I had a great time yesterday. It's always a pleasure to meet FT'ers from near & far. (And to discover new places in LA -- like Manhattan Beach!) Thanks for organizing, Sharon.
P.S. I didn't get ticketed for parking 3 hours at a 2-hour meter.

Great seeing everyone!
It was great seeing everyone & we had them arriving/leaving in different waves throughout the day & evening.
Some just before the heartbreak of Smarty Jones losing in the last length & a half
, some just before the NHL game started, and then kudos to the rest for staying 'til the end of the NHL game (well, they couldn't drag me out of there, although they tried
) when TB scored in double-overtime
And for those from out of town, wouldn't you know today is glorious & no June Gloom!

Well if you'd said it was going to go into the evening, we might've shown up. Oh....
Re the June Gloom - it did look pretty nice out there this morning flying out, but then that was at 6:30 and after waking up at 4:30 in a hotel room with no hot water, anything that was going to get me closer to my home & a hot shower was looking wonderful!

I eventually did show up (at 4:30).
I even met a soon to be new Flyertalker. I suggested she use the handle LiveWire.
My big disappointment was that I once again (third time), misconnected with mauld. I know she exists because I talked to her once on the phone at the Westin in LAS.
Nice seeing everyone again (twice in 1 week)

So...
How long did you guys stay there, or did you change the venue afterwards? I just had so many errands to run in the afternoon (actually the whole day - being out-of-town weekdays every week...), and I had to leave at 2:30PM.
It was great meeting most of people for the first time (incl. some local southbay folks and overseas guest).
Sharon, many thanks for organizing the mini "Do" in MB and the reminder through PM. Yes, the weather today is awesome here... ^ I was enjoying some cold white wine(s) by a swimming pool this afternoon.
P.S.: I am looking forward to another FT get together at the October Fest event in Alpine Villege, or even sooner.

Flyman, we were at Shark's Cove 'til 9 I think. Some of the others wanted to leave but I stubbornly insisted we stay 'til the end of the NHL game (go TB
), and plied them w/ drinks, at which point they said - OK!
Then we went for pizza afterwards - what's the name of the place just up from Beaches? Anyway, there. Heck, I didn't even know they had tables. I thought you just got the pizza at the window!

It was great meeting you all on Sat. afternoon, I had alot of fun! It was too bad we had to leave when we did.
Snagged a row to myself (as did danam ) and slept most of the way back to BOS on the SFO-BOS leg, however I am still very tired today for some reason, maybe getting too old for this?
Thanks again Sharon for organizing!
Hope to see some of you in October!

I too want to add my thanks to Sharon for organizing this mini get together!
I wish I could have stayed a bit longer, but as my trip was being paid for by my company, I had to give them at least some of my time
Here are a few pics of the group:http://www.ofoto.com/I.jsp?c=xcyf847...&x=0&y=-w3v5nq
PS-- Dan, perhaps another time, another place~~~~

I am sorry I didn't get to spend more time talking to a few of you. Sharks Cove was so loud that the only one you could talk to was someone sitting next to you.
I had a good time and I was one of those ready to go but I stayed. I hadn't planned on sitting in a bar from noon to 9pm but Sharon HAD
to watch the NHL game and it went into OT. I love hockey but with Tampa and Calgary I really didn't care about other than I believe the Stanley Cup belongs with the Canadians before the Floridians. [rant over]
Sharon the pizza place is Manhattan Pizzaria. I don't like pizza except the pizza there. I am told it is about as close to NY style pizza as you can get in the westside (coast).

Yes, the pizza place is Manhattan Pizzaria! But I did not know you can actually eat in there. Hope you guys had enough beer to stick around till 9.
BTW, has anyone tried Mama-D on Manhattan Ave. It's a tiny place and I wanted to try, but there are always tons of people waiting outside, so I have never tried...
