There are tons of resources online - you don't need to be a businessman, just demonstrate examples of previous projects and how/where you created value for an employer/customer.

Hey all,
I've got a vacancy here on my team, and I would honestly love to have a Flyertalker fill the void. Do you have GDS experience? No GDS experience, but obsessed with KVS and ExpertFlyer? None of those, but still have a love for travel? If you are in or around the Boston area (inside Rt. 128 recommended for quality-of-life reasons) and looking for an entry-point to the travel industry, I've got the job for you! Flight Center is looking for a new Airfare Expert in our Downtown Boston location! While any GDS or sales experience is preferred, absolutely no travel industry experience is required. If you're interested, shoot me a PM and we'll go on from there! Please note, this is an entry-level position. |
I'm about a third of the way through fullstack dev bootcamp (Python backbone), wrapping up in mid-to-late July. I spent 16 years in journalism, the last four split ~50/50 as a news and features page designer and in News Systems as an apps developer with a touch of sys admin and analysis thrown in. My passion lies at the nexxus of investigative journalism and public interest law, and defines the rough scope of most of the projects in my student portfolio thus far. My preference apres bootcamp is to hone my dev skills further while serving the public good but I'd be quite content working for a startup (or airline ;)) in the PDX or SEA metro areas to build street cred. I've done informational interviews already with small software startups to eBay, private law firms to the Federal Public Defenders Office, as well as with current and former colleagues in journalism.
I'm very fortunate to have a deep well of networking contacts in journalism and through my 18 years on FT (14 years as a mod) and simply by reaching out to those I admire but am ready to cast the networking net a little wider to see what's what. My Github profile will be fleshed out in the coming weeks and will of course update this thread and my FT profile with a link. Just wanted to pop in and formally toss my hat in the ring. Feel free to PM or email me via FT. As always, happy contrails. :-: |
Hi all,
I am the founder of a soon-to-launch mobile travel tech company and I'm casting a wide net for a technical partner willing to dedicate some hours a week in exchange for sweat equity. This will suit a skilled person, passionate about the travel industry, who would like to get involved in a side-project. My startup will offer mobile-only travel bookings and I'll be happy to elaborate more in discussions with the right candidates. Feel free to send me a PM. |
Hi everyone,
As of right now, I am starting up a new site to help travellers maximize the number of travel points they earn as well as demonstrate how to redeem their miles for best value. I need to hire a writer as soon as possible who is very, very knowledgeable in this arena and who is of course reliable, passionate and keen to grow with us. Please PM me for more details. Thanks a lot -Alex |
Anyone looking for a technical marketer in a role that involves traveling? My job's travel got cut and that was a major reason I took the role. Based out of ATL, so I can get anywhere.
Experience with front-end languages (HTML, CSS, JS, jQuery, & some RoR) and can easily pickup more languages/frameworks (Node, Angular, etc.). Highly experienced with B2C analytics tools, primarily Omniture and Google Analytics. Experience in fortune 500 and startups, both international and domestic. PM me if interested. |

Bocastephen gave some great advice to you! If you are a "PR Flack" as you say you are; then apply some basic PR to yourself and sell yourself. |
Looking for an in-house Travel Agent!
Hello everybody,
I'm looking for a travel agent, with Sabre experience. We are a large labor union, based in Washington, DC. With our own, in-house, "Convention, Meetings, and Travel Department." Our team plans and organize all of our organizations events; including training events, political campaigns, and our biennial National Convention. One of our travel agents is retiring, and we have an open vacancy for a travel agent, to start ASAP. The position would require for you to live or relocate to Washington, DC. Our office is located by the Capitol and Union Station. We offer excellent benefits, that can not be matched anywhere else in the travel industry. With great compensation, please note salary is non-negotiable, as the position is covered under a collective bargaining agreement with a generous pay scale (that include raises every 6months-1year). We use FCm Travel as our "agency", unfortunately our contract with them prohibits us to hire any of their active staff. Current active FCm employees may not be considered for this position. If you're interested send me a PM! |
Hello all,
I'm casting my net on here for a role as a Web Operations Engineer / "DevOps" Engineer / Service Delivery Specialist. I ran my own startup for two years and have four years of experience working for a blue-chip tech consultancy. Feel free to send me a PM if you'd like to chat more. |
Hey all,
I'm putting my hand up for any suitable roles - preferably travel related, but potentially open to anything. Prefer location in LA, or SFO/San Diego would be suitable as well (but again, open to relocating further). LinkedIn - http://au.linkedin.com/in/davefeldman1 if you want to check me out or get in contact. Cheers |

I am available to work with organizations across the US. Please PM me with interest and we can discuss how I can become part of your team! Bob |
