So the question is do I post here, or do I post in the other thread?

Maybe here? More visibility?

I'm downtown most days, with a fairly flexible schedule.

Depending on when it is, I can sometimes head down from YVR, so I'll keep an eye on this (and the other) thread. Although last year's conversation with the land crossing folks was less than fun "you're meeting people you don't know, from the internet, to discuss flying to places just to earn points to fly to MORE places?! I don't get it. I have never heard of that" ... so I may opt for Amtak or flying down.

those who drive across the border could say they’re attending a board meeting of the “Cascadia Travel Points and Miles Society” or similar

Lying to Homeland Security is seldom a good idea. Turning it into a business trip even less so.

What possessed you to give so much information? I would just say "I'm driving down to meet some friends".

Those working at airports must be better informed. On my way to FT moderators meeting last year I mentioned an internet bulletin board for frequent flyers. Oh, you discuss how to keep miles from expiring?

Funny enough, once on my way up to YVR (took Bolt) the Canadian land crossing went pretty much like:

Me: "So this sounds really crazy, but I'm visiting some friends I met online."
Agent: "Oh that happens all the time!"

So I guess it happens more often than not.

Anyway, seems like just two or three so far? There have to be more people ... where are the hordes of DL/AS elites?!

Not an AS or DL elite, but others who are might be the best to loop this thread into those fora...

Ja, interested, nice idea (assuming I'm not on a MR or such at the time).

Yeah, I was sent to secondary going to YVR (first time to Canada) two years ago when I mentioned I was visiting friends I met online. They were also interested in the beer I was bringing.

Keep me posted :-: I've only been thru SEA 4 times this year so far, with another trip this week

For those of you that are date sensitive, what dates work for everyone?

End of February to early March perhaps? Happy hour or dinner somewhere? Ideally near downtown would be my preference, but if people are pushing for something eastside, I'd be up for that as well.
