Thanks to jrl767 for organizing and the ride from/to lightrail. It was a very enjoyable afternoon and nice to meet Polytonic as well. Seattle weather played along nicely with a pleasant and mostly sunny day!

we’re out of town 12 Sep to 2 Oct, but Sun 16 would certainly have possibilities

Polytonic Jul 2, 2022 8:09 pm

If people are around, I was thinking maybe something towards the end of July or early August.

I'm out for most of September, but October sounds great so far.

Semi-related: jrl767 you might be interested in the new Seattle Pup Passport. https://pup-passport.com/products/seattle-pup-passport

late Jul / early Aug also highly likely … and thanks for the link!

I might or might not be available, depending on the exact date. We're heading on vacation next week returning late July, but then the youth soccer tournament season starts and things become hectic for quite some time.

Would love to join any Seattle area meetups. Following this thread :)

I’m SEA based along with some others of course. Willing to meet up when I’m not traveling

Some ideas:

My calendar is open July 30 or 31 if people wanted to do a food thing.

Seafair is the following weekend (August 5/6/7) if people wanted to go watch the air show.

target of opportunity -- Fri 15 Jul

HPN-HRL is in town, meeting up with 8-10(?) BAEC FTers who arrive SEA tomorrow morning and depart Mon evening ... he mentioned that the BA folks are up for a FT meetup

he's interested in craft breweries, and from socializing w him at the spring 2021 LEX DO (and a subsequent meetup in SAT) I know he enjoys good bourbon as well

here's a tentative plan for Fri afternoon/evening (keeping it near their downtown-area hotels to be reasonably walkable):
  • Copperworks Distilling (Alaskan Way & University Ave) -- start ~1700
  • Seattle Beer Company taproom (Western Ave at Pike Place Hillclimb) (very limited food options on premises)
  • Pike Brewing Company (lower levels of Pike Place Market) (full kitchen, fairly traditional pub grub)
  • Old Stove Brewing (Western Ave near north end of market) (full kitchen, more contemporary menu; Mrs767 and I enjoy this venue) -- they don't take reservations, so perhaps check in there and visit Pike Brewing while waiting
  • Cloudburst Brewing (Western Ave & Lenora St, just north of Pike Place Market)

Polytonic Jul 14, 2022 6:01 pm

I'm in! Will be there closer to 5:30ish depending on my last meeting.

jrl767 Jul 14, 2022 6:09 pm

thx to eponymous_coward for the reminder about Radiator Whiskey! (Corner Market Building across from the clock at Pike Place Market)

OpenTable shows they have lots of availability between 530 and 830 for a party of 6 (I'm guessing that's the max they'll take on a single reservation)

sea_jeff Jul 14, 2022 9:42 pm

Nice! Will see if I can get the missus there. Took some photos for a dog rescue group at Old Stove and it was great fun. Thanks for the heads up, jrl767!
