Just got back from Europe and the jetlag isn't gripping me quite as bad as I feared. I'm available until 1:30pm, then have to escape to the suburbs for a youth soccer match, if the smoke allows.
|
So they let me cross into the US. Yay! Land crossings are usually painful. I would suggest 1030/11 for a time to start and we can post locations/ETAs as we go for stragglers? I will defer to the locals for where to start based on number of attendees.

Do we have a confirmed headcount? I think we may want to switch to the model the LA people have, book a table somewhere for 6-8, accept confirmed reservations only (to get around the Seattle Yes that plagues our great city).
the only place that seems to have availability is Julia’s in Wallingford, but that would require two bookings for parties of four I booked one at 1100 and added a note that there will be another booking under an as-yet-unknown name that we would like to be seated with/near |
Sounds good. See you tomorrow.

Mrs767 made the second booking at Julia’s for 1115 … I’ve messaged the restaurant; will call in the morning to explain the situation and attempt to arrange adjacent (or nearly so) tables
|
I'm still feeling a little wiped out by vaccine booster, but will do my best to make it by 11 or so.

Hey, I found a +1 for tomorrow, do we still have room?
... wait that sounds dodgy. I know a local FTer who wants to tag along. :D |

... wait that sounds dodgy. I know a local FTer who wants to tag along. :D seriously … should be fine ;) two who had expressed interest have dropped, still waiting to hear from one respondent, and ~15 others have ignored PM (so I’m presuming they’re “no” on Julia’s, but might drop in if we keep the thread alive in near-real-time as we’re wandering between murals and breweries) |
thanks to Polytonic for starting the discussion for this meetup; it was really good to meet Berrenger and to catch up again with both nomadic.relief and WillTravelForFood
for the record, Julia’s in Wallingford is a great brunch location (even if they don’t take AmEx  ) forgot to take pix at Yonder / Bale Breaker; these are at Bickerson’s https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...7fc22723b.jpeg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...df4b79d28.jpeg departing shortly; probably calling it a day at this point |
Before I forget, nomadic.relief IOU ~$28 USD or so.

How do people feel about doing something say, Dec 17 or 18? Weekend before Christmas, I figure things will be pretty slow for most people.

I'm scheduled to get back from DC around midnight on Fri 16th, so don't want to commit to anything for Sat 17th (basically reserving it for IROPS recovery)
