fair-dinkum...
KathyWdrf: You're bloody right!
"bloody" = the Great Australian adjective, used to intensify...
"fair-dinkum" = "true-blue" = unquestionable...

Sorry guys I am still in limbo, but looking to be a maybe not unfortunately. I am hoping to sort something out to come up Sat morning on QF, meet you all for the TT and then head back home Sat afternoon but we'll have to see. You might want to put me down as a "most likely not" and don't include me in headcounts for TT etc - I really want to come, but the finances are not looking so great.
I will try and let you know ASAP I get something sorted one way or the other. Sorry for being so vague and all the organisation being done for the event looks top notch - well done!

Info for nametags:
Ill have nametags made and you have a choice of wording on the nametag.
For instance, Ozstamps will be OZSTAMPS, GLEN, AUSTRALIA. I will be JOH, SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA.
- Can everyone (including Definite Maybes and Maybes) email me their choice of wording please asap via [email protected]
- At that time, everyone who hasnt emailed me his or her private email address, please do so as well - I'll also need this to co-ordinate credit card payment details
- Also, can let me know via the same email your arrival/departure flights/dates and (if applicable) at what hotel you will be staying. Those people with mobile/cell phones, please let me know your number This info will only be used for organisational purposes.
Credit card payments:
Most of the events need to be pre-booked with a deposit and/or full payment. Ozstamps is 'out on a limb' with a payment for the Dinner Cruise (which was filling up)... He has offered the use to us of his merchant credit card billing system at no additional cost. Ill tally everyones bill based on info above and will notify you...
Is there anyone who can help me explain the Ozzie slang Struth! to our OS visitors???

OK .. I needed to pay IN FULL ($1050) for the Friday evening Captain Cook Dinner Cruise for 14 passengers on Friday. Or they would not hold the reservation as Friday and Saturday are of course their very busiest nights.
We can add extra numbers if needs be, via additional payments but cannot DEDUCT numbers, so please keep Joh's warning in mind - you are making a FIRM booking on some of these things. When you pay via credit card to me that is a firm commitment and no refunds will be possible. If we have 13 attend there is no refund whatever they say over the $A1,050 they have already debited me up front.
As Joh explained I have offered to use my merchant facility for all members who wish to use credit cards. No fee will be added by me to the sums Joh outlines above. This will make it far simpler than chasing folks individually for money on Tarmac Tour, Friday Dinner Cruise, Saturday airport lunch, Sunday Hunter Valley day etc, as these are thankfully all fixed price activities.
Joh has the pretty huge job of chasing up all cards in ADVANCE so she can give me a list of names and $$$ figures of what to debit. Some folks have kindly co-operated already, and I'd urge you to please take a few minutes to do this in the next few days. You can do this via email or Fax. For the USA and many overseas visitors the WONDERFUL news for you is that our dollar has slumped over 10% in very recent times against the $US. So whatever you signed up for is really going to cost you 5-12% LESS than you planned for if I process card at these current sick rates. ^
Exchange rates are highly volatile, so but right now that is the reality.
Captain Cook Cruises agreed to the $A75 a head figure as I guaranteed them I'd round up some Entertainment Cards to cover the $25 per person discount I found. So if anyone has a Gold Entertainment book card - even if not attending the Friday cruise - please mail to to me if you do not mind. Glen Stephens PO Box 7, Castlecrag, 2068. Even one from the June 2004 expiring book will be fine.

Haven't received your fax Kiwiflyer, but my fax line is also my computer line so please try again... And thanks for the Ozzie Slang - I had a feeling I didn't spell it right, yours is much more authentic...
At the moment I'm 'chasing' the people who haven't confirmed as yet via individual emails and I'm getting responses as we speak. I'll update the attendants' list within 24 hours and following start co-ordinating the payment details...

lock up your daughters and sisters!
I'm pleased to announce that I've bitten the bullet, paid the outrageous change fee and will now be in SYD for TT and Lu on Sat 22/5. At first there was some concern that I could not change my MEL-CBR-MEL ticket because it was the same day, but aparently reissuing for a different routing is OK.
I'll email Joh as requested for the stuff - numbers, flights etc.
Looking forward to seeing a crowd of eager beaver tarmac and QP tourists in less than 2 weeks. It should be a blast!
