Rats I can't make it. I had hoped this would be my first DC FTer get together, but I have softball every Thursday night. Hopefully next month.

Thanks for organizing this.

7PM tonight - see you all there.

Currently, as far as I know, we've got:

Techgirl
liveon777
MrAOK +1
Softball Jon
geo1005
Alysia
nor4
gleff
mymiles2go
G2 (+ little G2 & maybe Mr. G2)
El Boocho
Mileage Addict
Kokonutz
GatorGal
thezipper
headinclouds

& myself (+ 1 or 2 maybe)

I called to make reservations for about 20 people this morning & was told that they don't take reservations for the outside terrace, only the inside terrace - and they told me that they can only do it after 11AM. A group our size showing up at 7PM at this hotel is not going to be able to seat the approximate 16-20 people that we have outside (that place gets packed), so
I'll make resevations for the inside area. When you get to the Hotel Washington, if you haven't been there before, you can go directly up to the top (or wait in the lobby for other FT'ers if you want - I know I'll most likely be a little late),

I'll make a reservation under the name Flyertalk in about 2 hours from now & post back here if they don't accept the reservation (which would surprise me!)

I could go earlier and just take over the outside.

add me to the list

I could also try to go a bit early and help G2 stake a claim on the outside. Maybe for techgirl is not hot, but it will be the mid-80's outside and that can be tiring for long period of time.

GatorGal and myself are also planning on getting there at least by 6:45 and perhaps a little earlier. But don't worry MileageAddict -- I won't start eating chicken until you get there.

Well, if you guys get there early enough & you can stakeout claims for some prime seating outdoors, by all means, please do. We'll have literally about 20 people, so you'd just need to make sure that we could get a nice corner area or something that can be expandable to upto 20 people. It's a Thursday night with nice weather, so I have a feeling it'll be packed - worse case scenario, we do have a 7PM reservation under the name Flyertalk inside.

Start thinking about next month...

Tonight was an absolute success - we had a lot of old faces & some new ones. Little G2 was able to join us & it was nice to finally meet her after all these stories we've heard about her from Momma G2.

Time to start thinking about next month!

We didn't come to any sort of resolution (at least we weren't at a resolution when Kokonutz & Techgirl led the group to the second bar - Old Ebbitt Grill where gleff & mileageaddict took advantage of the free valet parking & I, like a moron, ended up parking 5 blocks away - at least it was street parking!)

So, hopefully they came up with an idea for next month - if not, come up with one here.

Probable dates are June 3 or June 10 - I'm not sure I'll be around on the either, but if I am here, I'll try to make it out to wherever we decide. My vote will always go to the one with free parking !

G2 tentatively has volunteered her backyard for later in the summer (after the cicadas leave) for a BBQ where she has suggested some nice cold strong martini's. The Key Bridge Marriott is still an option, but I was thinking we could do that for July as I'm not sure I'll be around for June's event at this point, but I know I'll be around for July's (which I'd like to tentatively recommend for July 8, at the Key Bridge Marriott - the first weekend is 4th of July weekend & it's a long weekend so people may be out of town or something).

Post your suggestions, please!

If Koko was there, then I was by default

I'm thinking of doing another dinner at the College Park airport towards the end of June. Tentatively, Friday June 25th. Any interest? Of course, you Virginia folks will need your passport
