I've been lurking about FT since 2007 in one way or another (closed my old account) and finally rejoined recently now I've decided to get back into actually conributing to forums rather than just mining the trove of information :-)! Time to get posting.

Welcome to Flyertalk Lauren:-:
There actually is a thread called "who we all are" where introductions are made, so I'll move your thread there. Willie co-moderator Community Buzz forum |
Thanks! Much appreciated.

Hi from OZ
Just joined ...
I have been flying for many years. Flown single engine myself for a while, and have been pax on JetStream, Saab340, Beech1900, F27, Dash8, F28, Embraer 190, DC3, DC9, DC10, MD11, Tristar, 717, 727, 737, 757, 767, 777, 747, A300, A310, A320, A330, A340, plus one or two others. Best experience: approach into SYD during a stormy night in a DC3 :), and SYD-FRA-SYD with Etihad in F. Bad experience: some Chinese outfit out of HKG in J, and every flight with Jet-Star . Cheers |
Hi to everybody
I am a frequent RTW traveler with my bases in the US (West coast) the EU (mostly Germany) and ASEAN (Thailand/Singapore).
I have been reading FT quite a bit, but I have never posted yet. I am almost 50 now and I really am amazed how much the travel experiences have changed over the past few years especially. When I was younger a trip was something special and I was usually looking forward to it, however now with all the hassles it is a lot more stressful. Still I stay loyal to the airlines that provide the services I value most. Happy travels to you all!:D |
Hi guys I am galidon cage and I am an IT professional residing in California. I am here to share my experiences and take advice from others. Basically I love traveling and I have traveled across continents.
Why I am so obsessed about traveling is, you come across different type of people and learn different things which can be implemented in your life too. |
Long time lurker, brand new poster.
I travel around 50K a year within the US mostly on United and American. This forum has provided lots of valuable info and I hope I can return the favor some time. Looking forward to more posts :) Regards, Ramon |
Welcome to all our newest members! We're better for having all of you. ^

Hello...
Hey everyone. I just joined today and am making some rounds looking at info and seeing what there is to see around here. I've just tranferred to a new job and will be traveling a lot around CONUS (and also to Ireland for my honeymoon in eleven months). I love to travel for fun, and even for work (crazy, right?). I'm hoping to find some good information around here to help build my miles/points/statuses, and maybe stick around for the community - seems like a pretty solid one.

I have plenty of Delta Miles and want a coach ticket from Boston to Manila.
I need a single round trip ticket and am very flexi]able on dates. Seems that there is never anything available unless I pay 3X in miles. Any advice ?/ |

Hi,
Just joined a Consulting firm and will be traveling for business now. In addition, I travel a lot personally out of Detroit, domestic/international. I'm looking forward to learn from everyone and share my experiences. |

Hello all, brand new here. I am just starting to travel again after many years of being consumed by career. I used to fly quite a lot for work (FL Government) and was dating long distance, so I was in the air a couple times a month.
Now I am just flying for pleasure mostly with a few business jaunts. A few trips to Cali, Jersey, Ohio, going to SJU soon. Just here to learn about the new programs, and have renewed some of my frequent flyer/hotel memberships. I fly out of TLH in case that matters to anyone. |
I read your quetes
so please give me some more how to use your site .

Hi everyone. I'm a student with 40,000+ miles and United Premier Silver. Unfortunately, as I only have 2 flights planned on United this year thus far and am only going to hit about 17k this year, which is sad because I have quite a bit of travel planned for 2013. Maybe I'll find a way to hit Silver for next year, but probably not. Regardless, I love to travel.

Hi All,
New member here by virtue of the fact I am looking for fellow commiserators to share the experience albeit third world like; flying out of US airports with special mention for Newark NJ. I am an expat from NJ and after flying through Newark with the extremely rude treatment by airport staff, the local residents and the ticket/slash gate agents I thank God I left the state 17 years ago! By the way United is the worst airline in the world with the most disgruntled employees in the world (just my opinion) based on a recent experience flying to Zurich Switzerland through Newark from Colorado. Suffice to say I felt like the people in the lower class part of Titanic and the airport staff at Newark is somthing akin to a horror movie! If anyone wants to know what it is like living in a third world country, fly United through Newark and you never have to leave the USA. |

Hi mvtm. |
United was terrific
Due to the severe storms in Nothern Virginia recently, United was unable to get an aircraft to Rome (UA 967). United put up all the passengers for up tp two days in the Hilton Rome Airport or the Hilton Garden Inn Airport hotels. The room and board were paid by United. Thanks United! Terrific Customer Service.

Hi, I'm new here to this forum! I joined because I want to ask a large community for advice for a specific kind of hotel in Seattle. Which forum should I use to ask for help?

For general hotel questions about Seattle, I’d post in the TravelBuzz forum: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/travelbuzz-176/ Welcome to Flyertalk ! |
Just saying "Hey!" from here in flyover-country Colorado.
Looking to learn and hopefully contribute to the community. Strikes me as an amazing site with a great group of people. In addition to seeing more of everything on the planet, I've always wanted to string together a NHL tour to see every team. Cheers! |

Just joined, based in ATL, username is a play on ATLbound. Occasional international traveler (1x year on average), make perhaps 3-5 domestic trips a year. I'm interested in taking advantage of the vast pot of collective knowledge that exists here when I'm looking to plan a trip, as I am currently in the process of doing. Speaking of which- what is the best place to post a question about whether a certain fare is competitive given the set of cities and time of year? Would it be in the specific airline frequent flyer forum?
|
Well I joined in February and check flyertalk often but I really need to do a better job because I seem to be lost all the time and I am not using it properly. I can say that I was lucky enough to run into the million mile secrets blog by accident and that started the obsessions. I have a ton of southwest miles and the companion pass because of him. I started seriously doing this in October and was using my miles all wrong. I had 20,000 miles as of today I am at 555,000 miles across both hotel and airlines. We are using our miles but I think I am going to treat it like a retirement vehicle. My husband and I have a ways to go until then but the places we will go! Thank you all for your help!

Hey everyone,
I joined solely 'cause I'm flying more than I'm used to as of recent, and see it being that way for a while. I'm in a long distance relationship and fly at least once every month. I really just wanna learn/know how others do stuff and just hang around for a bit. :) I'm still new to the flying process lol. |
Love International Travel
I joined last year but am just getting around to reading some of the forums and understandin how this site works. I live in the SNA - coastal area and while I don't get to do more than 1 international trip a year I start planning the next one as soon as I am home. Most of my mileage is earned through cc so I will spend some quality time in the forum looking for better and faster ways to earn miles and share some of my experiences as well. Just had my first F class experience recently and it was awesome - of course minus the 4 planes it took to get back to California from CPH due to ff miles. Doubtful I can pull off F next year but that is my goal. ;)

I'm LDRing, too and have been for many years across half the globe. Alot easier to fly those millions of miles when they are low to no cost. You missed the party at the US Mint where we were hauling in millions of free frequent flyer miles but there are plenty of opportunities left. Get over to Credit Karma and see a shadow of your credit score. If above 700, then you might wanna bag some credit cards. Then get over to BoA to pick up a checking account and an Alaska debit card.:p
There is alot of "stuff" we do. Much of it involves recapitalizing the banking system and making it more efficient by reducing frequent flyer miles inventory storage costs.:p

Joined a couple of months ago, live about 10mins drive from LHR, currently working in forensic IT / IT consultancy. Working mainly in financial services for retail and investment banks. Great fun, but hard work.
Having grown up near Heathrow and with money saved for a deposit on a flat I can finally spend some time travelling, so expect to see me around a fair bit in the next year or so :D |

I live in central Texas and have done so since I was born (not counting a few years in KY/OH for grad school)....it has sadly been quite a few years since I traveled internationally and I only travel domestically a few times a year. However, a few exciting things will happen later this year that will allow me to travel substantially more and I am sure glad I found this site (was referred here by a fellow BMW enthusiast on a BMW site)...
Flyertalk has become my travel site nonpareil, as the scope and breadth of travel experience here is simply stunning.. I love travel (of course), food, architecture, wine, classical music, BMW's and photography... Cheers, |
I fly out of JFK/EWR. Flown 250k miles this year. I don't hate my job, but I'd take back the comment 10 years out of college 'I'd like to live out of a suitcase'.
