A pint in the Rutland Bar on your next visit, John.

QF WP let me know which is easiest for you in BNE...the 19th, 20th or 21st of Oct, although obviously the USA v Scotland match is right in the middle of the evening on the 20th. Name your place and I'll shout you drinks/dinner.

And I believe it is spelt bonhomie, FWIW. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

ajamieson, I have 2 tickets to Australia v Romania on 18 Oct (going with Mrs QF WP) and the following day has been designated "day of rest" as I'll have been in Adelaide the entire previous week and am away a lot in the next 4 weeks with work trips domestically.

To ensure that this FT meeting doesn't get out of hand, perhaps Tues night is best. Let me know when you arrive (using this thread).

Looking forward to sharing a drink or three http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Tuesday night, 21 Oct, in BNE sounds excellent; I'll let you choose a venue. Will drop you a line when I'm there.

Still trying to get tickets for Scotland v Fiji in Sydney on 1 Nov. Some went on sale at 9 am AEST yesterday but the ticket firm's website was showing 'sold out' by 9.01 am http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

Fox sports world(digital cable tier on most providers) will be showing matches on a atleast 72hr delay.Sentana sport will be showing selected matches LIVE via indemand ppv and the majority of matches LIVE on CCTV in bars/pubs.I wish fox sports world would have atleast goten the rights to show the screaming eagles live...Just for future notes fsw shows NPC rugby live every friday morning at 0330et/0030pt and during super 12's show 1 live match a week at that time as well.Sometimes durning super 12's you will get a doubleheader or a live 2nd match the next day...They also show all tri-nations fixtures live
Go screaming eagles!!!

Whats up with the Ozzie press...??? Its been published here in EZE that the Australian press is hitting the Wallabies for their latest performance. Is this just a press move to reduce the pressure on the home team or have they really been playing badly?

manfromoz Oct 7, 2003 7:37 am

Australia have not been playing well although there performance did pick up slightly in the final stages of the Tri-Nations. They are in the hardest group with the Pumas and Ireland and there is a slight although not very likely possibility that they might lose both these games and not qualify for the next round. IMHO that won't happen.

As I am an English man who most of the time lives in MEL I have only one thing to say about Friday's game. GO PUMAS http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

On a sadder note I couldn't make the RWC from London and had to sell all my tickets last week. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

Well... the way I see it, I dont think that the Pumas have a large chance at winning against the home team.... having the crowd in your favour is a HUGE thing in Rugby. In any event, I think the objective for the Pumas is to stay injury free during the first game (I think its going to be very physical), and try to keep it close until the second half. If things go our way, maybe we can steal away a surprise victory. In any event, the match that will determine the fate of the Pumas will probably be the Ireland game... if we can beat them (and there I do see a big chance) we should make it to the second round. Needless to say, it will be important for Argentina to obtain the bonus points in its other two matches to secure its position in the group of death.

Sadly, I will probably miss out on the first game, as I will be in transit at MIA and I doubt any of the Admirals Clubs will have the rugby on... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

My local bar is opening earlier than usual tomorrow morning, at 10.30, in order to show the game so I'll shout for the Pumas on your behalf http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Well, after a fairly mediocre performance this morning things can only get better. Let's hope Gaucho's Pumas can get a bit of practice in against Namibia tomorrow http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Interesting choice of words. I would have been a little blunter than that http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

I doubt I'll be smiling when Australia give us a good pasting though, so perhaps I should learn some humility...

It looks like you'll make the London doo, then?
