Anyone take the wrong train? C'mon, admit it if you did http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Punki Oct 8, 2003 8:54 am

On this cold rainy morning in Seattle, sunny Spain sounds sooooooooooo wonderful. We were so terribly disappointed that we couldn't break away for this.

Do you have any pictures, alanw, to brighten up our dark, dreary day?

Maybe some day I will get old enough or rich enough to retire in the sunshine. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Note to self: Buy a Lotto ticket this afternoon. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif If you win, immediately for visit alanw.

Um, I did today.

Thanks everyone who came! We had a great time, drank too much, (some of us) slept around a bit, and generally terrorized the town. I am almost back to normal after sleeping from 6:30 yesterday afternoon until 10 this morning...

Punki, no need to buy a lotto ticket! That house on Queen Anne will leave you sitting pretty in a beachfront palace here with enough left over to take me to lunch every day for 10 years. Of course, the demographic here is a bit different than what you are used to in SEA, but I suspect you will adapt. I wouldn't be surprised if you had barricaded yourself inside the Stonewall at one point http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif.

While we are on the subject of Si-Do, I want to present the Good Sport Award to both AirOli and Zvezda, the only men in the group who weren't here for the, um, well, guys. Why, AirOli was even a good enough sport to join us at the "Sexy Boys Show" on Saturday night!
Notable lines and moments from the weekend:

- "Did he spit? Did he spit? Please tell me he spit!"
- Oh! It's a time machine!
- The Cuban/Lesbian bar with the old woman and her hookah
- "I don't drink. Another Caipirhiņa, please."
- "That hotel was just too cruisy for me!"
- AirOli locked in the bathroom and umguy, um, locked in the bathroom
- The stripper with change in his jockstrap

Now all of you who bagged, wussed out, or flaked, see what you missed?. Here's hoping next year will be bigger, more diverse, and (of course) better organized.

What I learned at Si-Do:

I don't like a gathering of gay males.
It is highly doubtful that I would ever go out of my way to attend a DO again. If I am in the area, fine, if not so be it.
My travel preferences are to explore either on my own or with a good friend, not with a group of quasi-strangers.
Putting more than 3 gay males in one venue at one time always leads to drama, stories etc.
Apparently I have a boytoy back in YYZ (wish I knew about that before).
Not everyone is the same in person as they are on FT.

A simple "Thank you Alan" for organizing this would have done...

Things that don't need to be shared in a Do thread:

What a weekend! Thanks for all your hard work and gracious hospitality, Alan....it wasn't easy to leave all that sunshine, laughter (and FOOD) to come home to the first chilly days of autumn.
