OK, from now on, the cancellation fee for Si-Do is either 1 UA SWU or 1 AA VIPOW.

That should take care of that...

OK everyone, ONE WEEK TILL SI-DO!

It´s not too late to make a last-minute reservation. You know NW/CO free up standard awards at the last minute!

Those of you already coming, get ready, gird your loins, etc., etc.

Hello from budget meeting hell in Singapore - have a good weekend and enjoy the local offerings !!

Punki Oct 1, 2003 12:09 am

We were so hoping we could make this trip. But the bad news (or maybe it is good news) is that we are just too darned busy at work to get away right now.

This is really a bummer, because we had obtained really wonderful award tickets for this trip and were really looking forward to alanw showing us his town.

Can we get a rain check? (We have these tickets we need to use.)

Have fun, take lots of pictures and post them all. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

OK a few updates and last minute words of widsom.

First, a certain female FTer is batting 1000 in the pre-season, based on sampling the humpy French men here in Sitges.

Second, due to circumstances beyond my control (namely Eduardo, the frequently-misbehaving Brazilian houseboy), I have been forced to change the schedule for lunch on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday, you are on your own. Sunday I will be sponsoring brunch at a location TBD Saturday night.

Which brings us to Saturday night. You KNOW I wouldn't choose any place dull for dinner. Which explains the fact that the police came and closed down Saturday night's dinner venue (L'Eterna) without comment last week (the buzz on the street is either unlicensed drag queens or noise complaints from the neighbors during frequent renditions of 'I Will Survive' in Catalan). So, things have changed. And for the better, I might add. We have been able to score a last-minute deal at Sol i Sombre, a traditional Catalan barbeque spot in Sitges. We will have pica-pica followed by all-you-can-eat ribs, lamb, sausage, and other dead animals. The price is 20€ all-inclusive.

That is all for now.

Back to your regularly scheduled *****ing about moderators, etc., etc.

Any suggestions for those who don't eat such close relatives?

alanw Oct 2, 2003 3:37 am

I can't comment on your relatives, but there will be lots of seafood and non-moving items as well http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Wow. Checking in from the morning after Si-Do Night 1. Who knew it was going to be such a, how you say, festive crowd?

Great dinner and great getting to meet everyone! Much, much, much alcohol was consumed last night and well into this morning I am happy to report. And, aside from a few isolated incidents, everyone was well-behaved and mostly kept their hands to themselves. Oh, well, there's always tonight...

Many of the crew are just dragging ... back from Organic as we speak so it appears that the sightseeing trip to BCN is going to be diverted to a lounger on the beach someplace close. Pity about the rain and thunderstorms. I suspect this will evolve into a late-afternoon pub crawl through the streets and gutters of Sitges.

Tonight we're off for Catalan BBQ and probably more shenanigans in the bars and/or brothels. Tomorrow brunch in my new, terrace-and-Brazilian-houseboy-free bachelor pad.

Thank you again for putting this DO together, I had a wonderful time and am grateful to have discovered Sitges. What a beautiful place!

Alan,

Thanks for organizing this. Sitgis is a very interesting place. I'll be recommending it to someone in particular who would probably enjoy himself tremendously there.

And the pastel de la dolchi de leche (spelling?) was unforgettable! By the time Elena made it there to try they were out of it. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

Alan,
Wow, thanks for a wonderful time. I really had alot of fun. It was great meeting everyone as well. Sorry we missed brunch. But way too much partying and not enough sleep, not to mention the fact there were no clocks in the hotel room, we over slept.
