The wonderfully tanned AASweets flew over to join the Washington DC Doo we were pleased to be at last week. I think she said she is still based in Milwaukee?

If so I bet you may see her, keeping her record intact of having attended more FT Doos than she has posts.

Randy, are you staying downtown or closer to the airport? There are some great places downtown. The Palms (221 N. Broadway)is fairly new and has had excellent reviews. Great for appetizers. So is the Knick, downtown in the Knickerbocker Hotel. This would be my recommendation, valet parking, outdoor seating, open late. There are also a number of other good options within easy walking distance, it's also within walking distance of other downtown hotels, (have you figured out that I'm staying downtown? )

If this sounds good to people I'd be happy to call and set this up if we have some idea of how many are coming.

Randy - I will be there!! I live in a suburb of MKE and am more than willing to help on finding a location. My suggestions - upscale Eddie Martini's for the best steaks. Saz's for some of the best ribs found anywhere.

Let's make Randy's night in MKE a memorable one. I am sure all of us locals can get together to make it happen!!

If Randy is buying a round - so am I.

A dinner at a German restaurant in Milwaukee on a trip is a necessity.

Try Karl Ratzchs's or Mader's.

I hope that MKE can provide a dinner that speaks to MKE. Randy's original idea of a fish fry is pretty darn MKE. So are the German suggestions above. I would suggest we have dinner at a place MKE is known for to assist in making the evening memorable.

I like the idea of German food. Ratzsch's is my favorite. If we can get an exact or close to it count of people willing to meet at Ratzsch's, I will be happy to make arrangements.

Randy - What would you like to do in MKE?

So when and where is the MKE mini-do, Randy? I, like so many other FlyerTalkers, am really looking forward to meeting the Big Man!

Of course .. there MAY be many new un-connected FT'ers based in Idlewild Airport, New York, in which case I humbly apologise.

Randy and other Ft'ers in MKE this Thursday.

We only have two days left to organize this mini-do.

I will gladly volunteer to make dinner/drink arrangements and provide transportation for those who have none.

However, I need help. Please contact me via my e-mail (in profile) and let me know if you are attending and preference for dinner location. To make the dinner choices I propose choosing from the following list:

Karl Ratszch's (traditional German)
Saz's (casual Rib place excellent)
Eddie Martini's (expensive Steak House)

Write in votes are fine too, but we need to get organized quickly.

Not to throw a wrinkle on any plans,

following feedback is from a MKE bud of mine on a fish fry possibility.

>Your best bet would be Turner Hall. On Fridays Turner Hall has, along with
>Serb Hall, has one of the best fish fry's in the area. On Thursdays Turner
>has all you can eat fried cod in a very Milwaukee fish fry type environment.
>If you were to go to Turner Hall on a Friday they would have fried perch and
>cod, but on Thursdays only cod. If Turner has potato pancakes available I
>suggest you get an order or three of those as well.
>
>If you are in the mood for steak I highly suggest The Savoy. Great
>porterhouses, martinis, fried eggplant, onion rings, the Milwaukee version
>of Gibson's at Milwaukee prices.
>
>Regards,
>Gary
