It also isn't on a metro line. Maybe Bethesda or downtown DC would be best for this one.------------------

Yes, I do but there is no way I am driving to VA during rush hour. Even if I drove to Greenbelt and took metro I'm looking at at least 1 1/2+ hours to get there. Just isn't feasible for me on a week night.

Greenbelt to National Airport is maybe 45 min. with the connection.

Last time I did it was an hour. Then how far to this restaurant? Plus, I am coming from Baltimore. Pick a place in the middle ... please

Potowmack Landing has a bar and they have outside seating -- and I've taken tables outside before and only ordered drinks.
'Twas just a suggestion, since it's nice to be on the water and watch the planes land. Didn't mean to stir controversity.

tazi .... even if that Thursday does not work well with traffic etc from Baltimore, I am sure we might catch up for a drinks/sss etc somewhere as we are in the area for several days.
Long time away yet. These poor folks are still working on a venue for JUNE.
Sorry to have sidetracked June thread - tons of time to discuss July later on.

One last suggestion
The M&S Grille on 13th
It's only a block away from the hotel where Oz and Joh will be staying and it is close to metro stop as well.
I'll shut-up now

Yes, it is closer. Plus, I don't need to figure out how to get the 1 1/2 miles from DCA to the other restaurant since it isn't on a metro line. This is sort of like me saying is it much closer than the 94th for you?

Like Oz said though, there is still plenty of time and if ya'll decide on the VA location for Thursday evening, I'll meet them at another time during their stay.

tazi, re. metro access to Potowmac Landing, there was mention above about ferrying people from the metro if the group chooses that option. You won't be the only metro-bound attendee.
But... thinking of the Doubletree rooftop suggestion, that's walking distance from the metro, still in VA, and closer to tazi.

Like I said though, I can meet Oz another night. Any of these happy hours are difficult for me to make, even Bethesda which can barely be considered MD. College Park, Wheaton or Silver Spring are actually the only places that would be easy for me to make and still within the metro area. There are a couple nice pubs in Wheaton.
