The current NO cab rates are $28 from the airport to downtown, or $12/person for 3 or more.

Be sure to alot adequate time to clear security and check luggage if necessary on the Wednesday after MG. The lines are horribly long. Also please don't wear a neck full of beads through security. They set off the detectors and then hold everyone else up.

The link to the transportation says it is only $35 for a "limousine" for 2 people. Do you have any experience with them...That seems pretty cheap to me...(do these companies UP their rates during mardi gras?)

Of course, not everyone would agree that soaking the ankle in alcohol(from the inside) is the officially approved remedy.

We just got back from 6 days in NOLA. We stayed at the W French Quarter, having intended to go down "before" Mardi Gras to avoid the crowds. As first time NO'ers we did a lot of the tourist things, and will probably go back for the parades with the kids when they're a bit older. What a neat city!

You really should go back. It is a fascinating city! I saw so much more the second time I was there, thanks mostly to SeeYa's knowledge of the area. I can't wait to go back!
I will however, watch out for those attacking sidewalks.

See you outside of Antoine's at 2:00 PM.
