A Band of Idiots?

I'm going to bring a life ring from the pool. That way when Beckles drives the Winnebego through the BrewFest and in to the Willamette River, I'll be able to swim to shore and still be able to drink beer with chexfan (who is wisely arriving by plane...).

Who is going to drive though.

I can hear the headlines now

20 frequent flyers plunge off the highway while passing around a bottle of Jack Daniels on their way to the Oregon Brewfest

YOU BETTER GET SOMEONE SOMEWHAT RESPONSIBLE AND SOBER TO DRIVE!

Or better yet all of you must bequeath me your FF miles.

Why don't you idiots ( scratch that ),why don't you adventuresome souls have a "progressive" party on Friday night? - Set the autopilot on your Beermobil towards PDX, and make stops along the way at the watering holes of Tacoma, Olympia, Longview, Vancouver...
Saves one hotel night and gives better assurance that you'll get to PDX someday, might even be on Saturday.

Alright kiddies, I just rented an RV:

29 Foot 'C' Class
2 beds, a sofa and a dinette
Fridge, freezer, microwave, stove, oven
Bathroom
They say there is room for 9 comfortably, but that a group of 11 recently took one to Whistler.

The rental is Friday-Sunday and Baraboodish has agreed to handle pick-up and help with drop-off (THANKS!).

The rental is $659.94 wtih 200 free miles. I anticipate we'll need to add $70-$90 at $0.35/mile after the 200. That price includes cleaning and a tank dump as well as taxes, fees, insurance, etc.

So with 19 one-way trips by the attendees I am counting, I figgure that comes to about $39 per person each way, or $78 round-trip. If everyone participates. If the #s dont add up, I'll either take up a collection or just eat the deficit. Any overage goes to beer for the fridge.

It'd be nice to get that money NOW, rather then have to leave you somewhere in EastBumFrig Oregon to be eaten by bears and sasquach.

So please send the appropriate amount of $$ to paypal account [email protected] and post here either "paid one way" and a direction or "paid round trip"...

I've already laid the $500 deposit, so nobody better screw up the ride, doode.

Now, on to the details of picking a driver, finding a place in Portland to park the beast, schedule, etc, etc.

BTW, we also have 5 hours of 'generator time' to run the AC nd microwave even with the engine off...

Whatever. We play strip "flip-em" for driver duty, we park wherever we darn feel like (hell pull up to valet at the hotel and throw the guy a $20 and let him deal with it) and as for schedule, first to pass out gets the rest of us up in the AM. Sound reasonable?
