Matt-- lets not forget the hotel logistics issue. From what Ive read in emails off board, we are doing the Embassy Suites on Friday in SEA and the Homewood Suites in PDX on Saturday..??? I have NO HOTEL as of now and I want to book something by tomorrow. Please advise.

geo1004 Jul 8, 2002 2:05 pm

gaucho, you have it backwards.

Friday night in SEA is the Homewood Suites
Saturday night in PDX is the Embassy Suites

I know you're a *wood guy but....

Geo is (for once) correct.

MY reservations are

Friday 26th: Homewood Suites Downtown Seattle
Saturday 27th: Embassy Suites Downtown Portland

We need to find those plastic wrappers that make any canned beverage look like a Coke...

I'll be in SEA Thursday and Friday night before gheading to MCO Saturday AM. Anyone want to hang out/meet for a beer, send me mail. I'll be at the HGI Renton Thursday and the Doubletree SEA Friday.

No need to rent unless you REALLY, REALLY want to.

Even with the freakishly thin auh2o as one of the passengers, I think eight would be a tight fit for that long of a drive, wouldn't it? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I like the rented Navigator part.... I volunteer to rent, those who ride with me can pitch in later. So, should I go ahead and rent or what...???</font>
I've seen what you do to rental cars ... that being said, Hertz is showing as sold out anyway, plus renting a Navigator for that long of a trip isn't a great idea because in addition to the high daily charges you're going to get into mileage probably since they usually only include 100-150 miles/day on those. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

All that being said, I was just planning on renting a car one way PDX-SEA to get to my 2:00 PM flight out of SEA, and if we're driving down to PDX anyway, I might as well get the car in SEA to begin with and avoid the inflated one-way rates anyway. So beyond baraboodish's Expedition, the car I'm reserving from Avis should provide room for me and a few others and solve the capacity issues. geo and I were planning on riding back together anyway, and we might get koko to come too so everyone else wouldn't have to get up as early as we will have to. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Sorry chex, you can only call shotgun when everyone can hear you... those are the rules. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/tongue.gif

There is some wisdom there. Beckles renting a car upon SEA arrival would also allow the 7 pm'ish arrivers to get downtown and get a table before we arrive SEA at 9:30 pm.
