In case anybody is keeping score, I am now out. . . . my trip is being post-poned to the middle of July.
Hope everybody has a great time though! |
Ther's a bus that goes straight up connecticut from Dupont Circle and then up 18th Street I forgot the number. The only other bus continues on Connecticut. I do know a few secret places to park there, but night time is not a good time to be walking in those areas.
DC has changed a lot since I lived there. Thers also a bus that goes down from woodly, Conn Ave, onto Adams Mill RD and then 18th Street. If anyone is interested, I'll check on the bus numbers. Otherwise I believe thats a 6-8 block uphill walk from Dupont circle. |
Faye, it's completely safe to be walking around the Dupont area. I don't know how long it's been since you lived here, but Dupont has been very gentrified. It may be the safest part of town to be at if you're a woman, because the gay population is so big around there.
Just keep your eyes open and you'll be fine. Otherwise, you might want into a truck or something. I don't recommend taking the bus. It's way too much of a hassle. You can just walk to where you have to go. |

Ill be coming from / going to the Hyatt in Tysons Corner - which is near Mclean, so if you want to meet before to go there, send me an email. |
I think I've convinced Ratgirl to join in the fun Friday night...she may even join in again Saturday (unlike me) if we manage to convince her that we are not ALL freaks...

Starwood included in my e-statement a very nice special for the DC Westins $139 plus breakfast and 1000 starpoints bonus. The Westin Embassy Row would be perfect for any Platinums attending the DO:

Hilton is offering very good rates in DC area this week/weekend at several hotels! Can't believe National Airport Hilton is offering $68 a nite and the one on Embassy Row(right in dupont circle area) is below $100...
Go to Hilton Web site to check all of them out if you can still change your reservations. Washington, D.C. area Hilton Crystal City at Ronald Reagan National Airport $68-$143/Night June 28-July 1 Hilton Arlington and Towers $75-$249/Night June 25, June 27-July 1 Hilton Silver Spring $75-$130/Night June 25-29 FM Maniac ------------------ - I am a Freqnt Miles Maniac and a Ballroom Dance Miniac :-) - |
Just a note: that crystal city/DCA Hilton is a former Doubletree and I've held meetings there....dont expect much! And that Hilton on Embassy Row has some pretty retched rooms, too, i hear....but i've always gotten suites there, so dont know from personal experience...

Doc, sorry to leave you out. I am glad you can make it.
By the way, folks, I have rescheduled my lesson that was supposed to take place Saturday. It's supposed to be eight hours bottle to throttle minimum, and I shoot for 12. With you guys in town, a 10:00 AM lesson doesn't seem like a good idea. [This message has been edited by mdtony (edited 06-25-2002).] |

Matt, sweetie, remember when we talked about how important it is for you to keep your clothes on when you are in public and when you are playing with girls? Boys can get in big trouble when they let nasty girls talk them in to taking off their clothes. You need to be careful about these things. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif
Oh, and don't forget that you must never let anybody touch your body on the parts that your underwear covers. John, could you please try to keep a closer eye on him? |
Hey, where are the pictures of my new friend Meredith?
