Hey Punqi... I still smell like Chateau Ste. Michelle!!! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Punki Jun 21, 2002 2:57 pm

Better you should wear it on your clothes, Chex, than I should wear it only my hips. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif The scale says I lost three pounds yesterday. Now can Greg cook or can that man cook?

chexfan Jun 21, 2002 6:40 pm

Umm. . .you mean, you have a life outside of FT?! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif These are great! Thanks Hunki. BTW, Punki - remember, gregseattle did join us for a bit - he's in the picture at the Ale House (he's the one that's on the phone!)

geo1004 Jun 22, 2002 6:37 am

Great pix Hunki! Thanks.

Friday evening sail: I am sooooooo jealous. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

I wish my apartment in RDU had a greggseattle view! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

No need to be jealous Geo.

Just jump on a plane, come on out and we can sail. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

The reason I changed the link to the one that warned what kind of site it was before you entered it. Why did you go in and look if it wasn't something you wanted to see?

Anyway, I believe my post clearly showed the original poster how she came across through her original posts. I'm afraid I had to agree with dhammer53, she sounded like a full-on tart - of course, this was before she edited her posts, and without apologizing for attacking dhammer53 I noticed.

And, Randy, yes, I was away, so thanks for editing the post for me. In the same way it was disgusting for some to go to the site, and see the type of site it was, it was disgusting for some of us to see that FT was being used as a source for a certain types of girl to place a thinly-veiled ad looking for a sugar daddy.

And, if this wasn't the case, it did appear as such. So, thanks, dhammer53, for getting the original poster to edit her posts.

I saw it before you changed it.

kyklin Jun 24, 2002 12:22 pm

I'd love a sugar daddy too... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Punki Jun 24, 2002 12:48 pm

The thing I have always liked best about FlyerTalk is that it is so open and accepting of all who come this way. I am deeply saddened to see the venom with which this young woman has been attacked in what I have always considered a safe and civilized internet space.

Having met her, I can assure you that she is every bit as beautiful as her initial picture would indicate. She is also very bright and charming and I think she did a great job of standing up for herself while still maintaining her dignity.

In this instance, we know for sure tht danhammer53 was absolutely wrong in prejudging BellissimAA, which is not particularly surprising--prejudging based on assumptions is a very dangerous and faulty practice. Perhaps an apology is in order from him and from everyone else who participated in these attacks, which quite frankly come across sounding like they were prompted by the green eyed monster. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/eek.gif

In the future, we would all be well advised to withhold judgment until after we actually meet the person in question. Then if we really don't like them, we can cleverly ignore them and spend our time with the people we really do like.

So, Punki, if one treats FT like an escort service, presents herself as an escort, one who is always looking for a sugar daddy, to go shopping with, and have dinner with, and she posts her picture and proclaims herself worthy of such attention because of her physical attributes, gee, ya think she might be an escort? How could those of us that thought as much be so assuming?

Yah, we're the ones that got it all wrong. Except, then, Punki, why did she edit her posts?

I still think she owes dhammer53 not only an apology but a thank you for inspiring her to clean up her posts so no one gets the idea that FT is open to hosting ads from cheap escorts.

Man, you folks are harsh. I swapped some e-mail with the lady in question and I can tell you that all the accusations that you're throwing at her are false. Shallow, self centered, and egotistical? Well, someone like that certainly wouldn't be playing down her looks and talking about how it's what's inside that counts, would she?

Anyway, let me say that I'm a pretty good judge of character -- that's vital in my job. And I'll say right here and right now that I would be more than happy to hang out with her anytime, anywhere.

My popularity on these boards is already non-existant, and I am sure this will torpedo it even more. But you really ought to give this woman a chance. Those who have seem to like her just fine.

BellissimAA, if you ever get up to my neck of the woods, the drinks are on me.

Actually, from her pics, the ones that Punki took, she looks like a very nice, very lovely girl.

But, that has nothing to do with how she presented herself initially on this board. The fact that she edited out all the parts of her original posts, the ones that led dhammer53 to post "enough," shows she finally figured out the error of her ways.

Now, for all the attacking she did instead of thanking dhammer53 for bluntly pointing out how she was presenting herself, I believe she owes him an apology and a thank you for opening her eyes.

I have already thanked dhammer53 for inspiring her to clean up her posts and I will thank him again for not letting FT even be presented as, if it truly wasn't, an escort service.

Matthew Vandamm Jun 24, 2002 2:29 pm

Tony,

I get out to Bethesda from time to time, as a very good friend of mine lives out there. Are you beers on you when I come out too??!!

Back on subject, I too have swapped email with Barbara, and have found her to be nothing other than completely charming. I am fairly new to these boards, and have never met a mass group of FT'ers before. I am looking forward very much to the do in Seattle. I wouldn't be so keen if I was judged in this way, before anyone gets to know me properly.

Lisa's post has attracted a lot of bad press, and maybe it was a little close to the mark, but I don't see how anyone would be seriously offended by it. Now I admit, I have a thick skin, and it takes a lot to offend me, and other may have been offended, so to each their own.

I just wish this whole thing would blow over. Obviously a good time was had by all in Seattle, and it should be left at that. I am hoping I will have a good time when I meet this crazy bunch in Seattle, and I do hope that all this gets forgotten about, and soon.

What a true bummer that even simple lunch gathering in SEA can get dragged down into the dirt. This is truly disappointing.

I personally thought what she did was funny. You couldn't tell that was someone goofing around?

The girl has a sense of humor. I guess that's a huge turn off for some folks around here. That's too bad.

You gotta be able to laugh at things in life, and if you can take a poke at yourself, that's a plus in my book.

Wow .... this thing just keeps going and going and going ...

FWIW, all I'll say is that everyone who was at lunch is welcome back at my house any time, including BellissimAA.

The conversation was wonderful, everyone was a PERFECT guest, and we all had a chance to get to know each other a little better.
