Well, I read this very interesting thread in hopes there would be some siteseeing tips for my ROAD trip to SEA 7/1-5. I will be with 2 teenaged boys and a near teen, 2 of whom are my sons. 3 Mariners games planned (7/2-4)-- tix in hand.

mudgal- if you don't want to sit with the hoardes at gasworks, I know a little parking garage on the UW campus that gives you a great view and easy to get in and out of than gasworks. Of course, the ambience isn't the same, but its where the locals tend to aggregate.

If some people on this board have a problem with that, fine. To me, looks don't make a person; it's what's inside that counts, and by thy fruits are ye known.

Obviously certain people (ahem! dhammer53) don't bear good fruit and obviously are more concerned with outside than inside, and that's not a judgment; it's a statement of fact, based on his post. It's sad that someone can't just reach out with faith and actually trust what people say. Alarming, how the world is becoming that way.

Sorry, but I'm going to have to come to the defense of my friend DHammer53 here, who merely posted what many other flyertalkers were thinking, and discussing... admittedly including myself.

Maybe some of us have just been around here long enough that WE are aware that none of the rest of us is the least bit concerned about anyone elses appearance. We have flyertalkers of all shapes, sizes, color, income, status level and even some of us with (eek) no status. Perhaps as a new person you werent so sure of the FT hospitality, and felt the need to post your "incentive".

If any concern of outside appearances was belayed, it was in your own posts. Both your introductory post and your first post in this thread, discussed your "outside appearance" as well as your "availability". So not being able to think of a less childish way to phrase this... "you started it".

As that has never been a criteria required for FT'ers...especially Seattle ones to converge upon someone arriving in our city, it became the cause of discussion and some speculation.

DHammer along with many other FT'ers offered me tours of their home city well before I was around here long enough for anyone to know what I looked like, and they will continue to do so.

Once you've become a true FT addict like the rest of us, you'll see that even Yankee Fans like DHammer53 are pretty standup guys. If he's bad fruit, then I have to say I'll hang out in the bottom of the barrel with him anyday.

That all being said..I truly am sorry I'm unable to attend the BBQ tomorrow. But you are in the very best of FT hands in your hosts for the day. ENJOY!!

I don't want to start a flame war, but who really cares? Dan asked whether it was her picture in a way that insinuated that it wasn't. I am not saying she is or isn't who she says she is, and I don't care if she is who she says she is. I guess I just don't understand the infatuation with this lady.

Dan insinuated that I WASN'T who I purported to be, and he could've easily just asked me in private if he needed his curiosity satisfied. In fact, Dan didn't just insinuate, he out and out STATED "I can't believe you people are so gullible," as if I truly wasn't who I said I was.

That's not a way to make friends, and it's very insulting. How would you feel, Missy or Ldsant, if someone said that about you? Think about it from my perspective. I don't think what I said was any nastier than someone else hinting that I'm some kind of fraud. You want to say I started it? Fine. Perhaps I did, unintentionally. But I'm not the one talking behind people's backs.

AND, might I mention, if you've been reading this thread at all, Missy, Ldsant, , you should take the time to read my SECOND post. I said that I only mentioned the single thing to see if anyone was listening. I also said I was willing to do "girl stuff" as well, in another post. My statement about meeting men was meant in humor, and if you can't take it as such, if you feel you have to defend someone who was judging me first, I can't find a less childish way to say "it's your problem".

I think I've been very much above board in this thread, and quite friendly, and willing to meet anyone who wanted to meet me, until I was attacked openly by someone who doesn't know a thing about me, and YES, he did judge me first.

This is the same person who said he was willing to retract his statement if necessary, who still has yet to retract his statement. You may see a different person, but I haven't. Not once has he attempted to resolve things since his post; not once has he emailed me to apologize for prejudging me. I've only heard from his friends that I'm picking on the bully, and he's really the one who started this animosity.

If you've come to these conclusions, I'm sorry, but they're not the right conclusions. From the beginning I've been willing to meet anyone, been willing to talk to anyone, I've replied to every email sent to me. It is quite insulting to be thought of as a fraud and have my picture discussed behind my back as if I have something to hide and I'm duping innocent people.

That being said, if anyone cares to meet me tomorrow, fine. I'm really not in the mood to meet anyone because I'm not sure who's been talking trash about me and who hasn't. I'm sorry, but I'll just let you guys continue with your plans and I'll meet some of the friends I already know in Seattle. I was only trying to reach out and make new friends.

Maybe DHammer is busy? We don't all get the opportunity to check in here as often as we would like. I don't think you will find anyone that will agree with you that he is a "bully". He is a very well respected member of the Community who seems to go out of his way to help FT'rs.

And you may be right that posting a photo such as yours is not the way it is usually done. At least I have never seen it done in the time I have participated.

Nevertheless, I wish you well and hope that you can put the issue aside. I agree with the posters above who stated that your SEA hosts are indeed very generous in the time that they want to give you. Punki is delightful and a very busy gal. You would love getting to know her.

DHammer is a long time well respected member of this board and I do not recall any occaison that someone has shown up here saying Im'm 28,blond and beautiful - here is a staged airbrushed picture come meet me sugar daddy please. It was definately a first for a board dedicated to flying!!!

So in your future cruising of Bulletin Boards maybe follow standard rules - lurk and read a bunch of posts - see what the etiquette of that board is- then post.

I had every intention of proving that it's my REAL picture until I was attacked. In fact, why don't you all show up at the airport tomorrow to make sure I am who I say I am?
