lunch/coffee in NYC
hi all...
not sure if this the right board for it, but I've been noticing all of these parties and get togethers and so forth. I live in northern jersey and work in manhattan in chelsea area. Any FT'ers outthere that would like to do coffee or lunch one afternoon? or even drinks after work. It'd be really interesting to swap stories or just ideas with other loonies, I mean FT'ers. Drop me a line or email or maybe do something more formal... like take over a dreaded starbucks for an hour.
cheers

I would but I hate starbucks. I have friends that always want to meet there and it makes me cringe .... on the other hand, my friends would agree that I am as loony as they come when it comes to getting miles. Last year I planned a trip flying from EWR to LGA just for the miles of course you can't fly direct. Wouldn't it be cool if there were an actual flight like this? whatever we pick, it should be an idine.com restaurant, plenty in NYC, you are doing the 10000 mile Northwest promo right?

On chat last night JonNYC expressed an interest in meeting up in NYC for brunch/coffee etc.
There are lots of places to go beyond Starbucks - I'll be in NYC from 26th-28th July staying at the Renaissance Times Square (thankyou Priceline!)
Hope some FT folks will be around then

FYI: this is the purrfect forum for your post!
We have a variety of get togethers in NYC from Deli lunches to just two or a few more people meeting up for coffee ro a drink.
if you post a few dates maybe you could get a group of the "Alley Cats" together for an afternoon or even evening.
Good Luck. Would like to meet you.

I'd be happy to meet you. Work's fairly hectic right now, but I expect to be able to take a breather in two or three weeks. I work in midtown but could probably make it down there for lunch.

Restaurant week is coming up end of June.
Its not on idine, but maybe we could all meet one day in one on the list.

When do you get in? I happen to be flying out friday night the 26th. If you are in early, maybe we could organize a lunch?

Ok... so the $20.02 pre-fixe lunches are back at a bunch of restaurants in the city. I work on W20th, but am in sales and roam the city all day, so can cab/subway to midtown or UWS or UES or tribeca (apologies to all non-new yorkers for the acronyms) I did not literally mean starbucks or rather five-bucks coffee, but anyplace else would be fine. On another note; SarahWest - unfortunately I will be in SF that last weekend in July, but your name came up quite a bit in the 5 people most wanted list that is floating around... it's a shame I won't get the chance. But it will be nice to just grab coffee and meet others from the list.
PS. I'll be in CLE sunday june 16th around 2pm flying back home. HAve some time to kill if anyone is around.

If anyone is headed to the NYC metro area, just let me know if you might want to try to get together. While I have various other committments, if at all possible, I'll naturally try to work it in - just as many have for the last three or more years!

sounds great, I am still unemployed so could go anywhere with no pressure to get back to the office. I like the prix fixe idea. I missed out on it last year since couldn't get away from the office ...

I'll be in the city from 6/22 - 6/26, working the TechXNY event at Javits and am open to getting together with other FT'ers for lunch/dinner/coffee during that time. The weekend will be a better time for me since I actually have to be in the convention center on the 25th & 26th for most of the day.
