Might be a dumb question, and it may have even been posted before, but I am a going to ask anyway.
How do I increase my chances of meeting a fellow FT'er on my travels? I have the luggage tags on every bag, but still I am yet to meet another poster to this board.
Now I know the natural habitat for an FT'er is an airport, so how/where do I find you guys.
I thought the idea of a facial tattoo a little severe!</font>

You have to go to the F/T dinners, /Do's...they are fun. I have done one, we will have another one next month. LA has lot's of F/Ters, so, easy to meet people. I think that it can be seen as some kind of brotherhood(and sisterhood
), if you will. Unfortunately, there are some less than nice people on here, have dealt with a few, makes it hard. Maybe we'll all meet someday.

Other than attending a FT gathering, the luggage tags are your best bet. I have been looking for them for three years now (both the old crappy ones and the wonderful new neon-Priority FT tags. Finally, after three years, I had my first FT encounter.
While sitting in the US Airways Club at PHL waiting for my AMS flight... mileshound walked right up and sat down ten feet away. It was great.

I agree it was great. I'm staring out the window seeing if my plane is there yet, and all of a sudden this guy is talking to me and he's fondling my FT tag. He keeps saying "I gots to know, I gots to know. It was like the Dirty Harry movie. I was startled until I realized what was going on, then I was happy. The tag finally paid off. A great use of a few bucks.
Then reality set in for Geo1004 when he was in coach on the 767 to AMS. A flight he did NOT enjoy.
GEO1004 was my second encounter. My first occurred in flight while I was waiting for the bathroom on a US LAX-PHL flight. I start talking to the gentleman in 2A and I think he used the phrase "Gold Challenge". Only a FT'er would utter that phrase so I mentioned FT. Well, it was Chemist661. He didn't have a tag, and I had an extra, so I went to my seat and gave him the extra. I hope he uses it to meet more people.
You have to keep your eyes and ears open.

I am in London with your tag on my bag. No FTers yet. Hope to meet some on the way back.
Met some FTers on my SIN trip in January. Made the time go by quickly.

During a recent trip to SIN I figured I'd practically be stepping on FTers everywhere. On the last night, I did have an enjoyable evening with Scott the Flier at the Conrad but that was prearranged.
On my flight from SIN back to NRT, I paraded through Changi and trotted up and down the plane wearing my FlyerTalk Cap, FT lapel pin and sporting several FT bag tags but I didn't run into anyone, even though it turns out there were about five FTers on the same flight, two of them sitting a couple of rows ahead. Some of us finally managed to unite in the RCC. I guess I should try the FT undies next time.

Thanks to the FT bag tags, I met HatTrick on the DC metro last week, as we were both heading to DCA. I don't know if DL has undercover FT spies, but they issue Plat Medallion tags that are the same color, shape and size as the FT tags.
HatTrick, I hope you made your flight.
Mine was delayed even more.... MSP weather on Thurs. was not fun.
Friday was even less fun when I shoveled my mom's sidewalk. :P

I ran into SemiElite on the shuttle for the Tampa Airport Doubletree in October. We were discussing Continental's upgrade policies on the ride and he mentioned HoKeY fares, which ONLY a flyertalker would know about.
Most recently I ran into Spiff at the Atrium Crown Room Club in Atlanta on Friday. I had pre-arranged a meeting with Tolarian Wind and we were chatting when Spiff suddenly walks by our table.
N866DA has checked me in for my Delta flight at SFO on multiple occasions. He used to be the only person manning the Medallion checkin counters in the afternoons. I also run into Russ21ATL at various Crown Rooms in ATL all the time.

Too many short blonde girls struggling with carry-on luggage! I think maybe Flyertalk earring for the ladies, same shape, size and colour as the luggage tag, and Flyertalk boxer shorts, same colour to be worn over the trousers for the men.
First person to do so wins a drink, although if anyone actually does this, I think you may have already had enough!

I shudder to think what anyone might say to me if I were to wear them now.

Dawn,
Those earrings sound lovely! I hope you still have them!
F Parker, I want to meet this people more now than before, they sound as crazy as me!
I saw a FT luggage tag in one of the AA luggage bins a few weeks ago, so if some poor FT'er is missing a tag, it is in the baggage office.
I spend a lot of time down there as they have the best canteen!
