Redondo Beach - I've always liked the sound of that!

Not to slight our friends in Manhattan Beach, Playa Del Rey, Marina Del Rey, Hermosa Beach, Malibu, or Westwood, all very cool-sounding places!

Sounds great to me. I guess for after dinner we can go to 3rd Street Promenade. If everyone agrees.

Santa Monica has come a long way, since I lived there!

The Warsaw restaurant is right there in the area on Lincoln. Too pricey, but interesting, since there are so few Polish restaurants of that quality anywhere in the US.

Just so people know, Santa Monica is much further away from LAX than Redondo or Manhattan Beach. It's a very long drive on the freeway, or if you take shorter route on surface streets, there are a heck of a lot of traffic lights. A cab right may cost about $40.

My vote is for Redondo and I'm actually flying in from GVA which is a good bit further than London! But if the others really want Santa Monica, that's OK. It's a nice town to visit, even though the weather is lousy right now. Plus I may skip dinner if I'm wiped out from flying GVA-FRA-SFO-LAX.

My flight gets in at 6:30pm and I'm assuming we are still meeting at 7pm?

Fair point Stimpy. As such, I think it's only fair to move the venue to Thai Thani in Redondo. Any objections anyone?

Oh, Geneva is only 469 miles away from London! That's not that much further!

No objections from me. Then we can head over to the Hermosa Pier afterwards.

Mmmm...Redondo....

>>> Hey all and Britt. Just wanted to fyi, this is not the resto. I had in mind, sounds good. Let me get the info needed tomorrow and post it, as I realize people are coming out here soon.

The resto I love is Siam, near LAX, on Lincoln and Manchester, near the Furama. It is large and spacious, big tables, so can accomodate many FTers , and no more than 5 minutes from LAX, which is a benefit.
Again, up to you guys. S/M is closer to Malibu, so good for me. MALIBU!!!

Someone asked about Thai Thani? Sorry, just checked the board tonight and a ton of messages here. I was there Sunday night, my belated birthday dinner, so Brian treated . Very good food!

Ah. I don't know the streets well but close to the Redondo Pier. It is like D street, I think, near the Arbys. Might be PCH that goes along there, so bad with that, Brian always drives down there. This is a nice resto., incredible food and service. Also, a plus for those who live in South Bay, but again, I would encourage us to keep it near LAX, which Siam does well...LAX is more central and Redondo is out of the way as far as LAX goes, but a fun place to hang out.

PF Changs is just too crowded on a Saturday night, have taken 2 dates there, or tried, and left, didn't want to wait 45 minutes for a table. Let alone for a group our size.

Brit, I am thinking you might have the wrong restaurant in mind!?, but whatever you want, we can do. I will need a headcount and then I can make a reservation.

HINT( go for Siam, you'll love it!!! )

Sorry kids, as has happened before, didn't see the 2nd page .

Dave, your call. You will like both Siam and Thai Thani.

Siam is great for location, Thai Thani has slightly better food, but a litte more crowded.

You choose and then I need a headcount, I can make a reservation, and I can get directions out.

If we do Siam, there is plenty around LAX, also close to the Marina(Marina/Playa del Rey). If we do Thai Thani, you got Redondo, a very fun place...

Stimpy, you are doing some serious flying that day! I would be dead on arrival .

Let me know...

This is my first FT gathering outside of DFW (you'll recall the "Party In The Metroplex" I helped put together last September, which turned into a solemn reflection, as it was on 9/22.).

So, I'm definitely looking forward to this as well!
