Is that a Thai Rest on the south side of Pier Ave, just north of Monterey Blvd???

Thai Thani in Redondo isn't too far from the pier, food is excellent, nice atmosphere & we could get a big table. I haven't been to the restaurant in Hermosa near Pier in ages but the last time I was there I don't think they had beer or wine...major drawback.

A/won't need a lot of food after flying from Dallas,
B/Won't feel like eating much at that time of day,
C/Don't want to spoil my dinner!
So, what's the restaurant winner?
I have to say, good Thai food does sound very appealing to me. I can get great chinese in London anytime. (Thai too, for that matter, but I don't do Thai much here)
I assume this will be an impromtu(ish) gathering of like-minded fun-loving people who all share the common passion for travel. Therefore, as the instigator of this little soir, I declare that we, as a group, have one mission - Have tons of fun and drink copious quantities!
Can't wait to meet you all...

Nobody's got all 6 numbers last nite!
Too bad this get together isn't this weekend because Saturday night the Lotto will be up to over 170 MILLION BUCKS!
... and I would have been able to make it.
As it is, guys, I need a vacation, like yesterday. So, I'm doing my best to finish up this knarly website I'm working on, and head down south.
Anyone want to switch this thing to LAP?

Worldtraveler36's suggestion of Thai Thani sounds great to me.
Hermosa is halfway between Redondo and LAX so it wouldn't be out of the way to stop there after dinner.
Honestly I love all food so as long as the food is good and there is no problem with seating I am up for anything.

Again, let me just recommend Siam, good Thai resto, near LAX, big and with big tables.
I love Thai Thani, all my friends do, but we may want to keep it near LAX if we have people who are jetlagged. I am fine with wherever we go. It is all good!

O.K. I'm now definite. I'll be arriving on AA 2437 from DFW at 03:42 P.M., and also staying at the Hilton Garden Inn LAX/El Segundo.
Something about that rate, and the chance to try out the Silver Status, just drew me to it.
Brit, we can try to meet up and travel to the restaurant together. If not, no biggie. E-Mail me with your thoughts on that.
As far as restaurants go, I've never had Thai, so I'm looking forward to it.
I think Brit should have the choice of restaurant, since he will be more jetlagged than me, and he also initiated the idea for dinner.
After dinner activities are cool with me, as long as I can make the 06:25 back to DFW!
Chemist, think of it this way - You can say you've already met one of us when you head over to AUS for that great barbecue with us on 3/3!

What's the 'Silver Status' all about then?
Ahh, so, I get to choose the restaurant then huh? Just because I'm the instigator? Hmm...
Let me check out some reviews and I'll post my choice later today!
Have a great weekend everyone..

The silver status is with Hilton.
Studley, did you just get a Hilton credit card? That gives you an automatic Silver status.
777Brit, I guess we LA people are so laid-back no one wants to make a decision on where to eat.
Not to put any pressure on you, but if you choose the place, at least we'll know where we're going to have dinner that evening.

I am just a little confused.
What part of Redondo is Thai Thani because I live in North Redondo and LAX 5 minutes from my home and Santa Monica is 15 minutes past that?
I love Santa Monica though.
Is the Thai there on 3rd Street?

I'm doing the "Fast Track to Gold" (That's how it's listed in the HH CSR's computers) promotion for AA GLD members. I don't know if it's also being offered to PLT/EXP (but I'm sure they have something else, probably just higher status, naturally).
Just look at the Online 2002 AAdvantage Membership Guide on AA.com, and it'll explain this. For AA GLD members, you essentially get Silver VIP HHonors, with a chance to get to Gold VIP HHonors very quickly.
Yes, Brit, you're the "instigator", and because you are flying the longest, so you should choose. You also have mail!
