It's already the 7th, folks. Has anyone made a decision??? The last few meetings in the SF area have been on a week night. Huge traffic problems for some of us. Sat is sooo much better. I have husband in Fremont and me in Morgan Hill on week nights, much as we would like to join all of you (esp that rad DGolds - "SF" sniff, sniff).

I'm in Berkeley at a class right now - I can be a little flexible so please mail me - I'll check email after class. I could do AYCE on Friday @ 6 and do something else tonight...

Spiff: The AYCE rate at Sushi Chardonnay has time-of-day restrictions. If you can commit to 7 p.m.--7:30 p.m. at the absolute latest--this will work. If it has to be later, we should pick someplace else. As they say over at Best Fares, "You Snooze, You Lose."

There are some decent tacquerias near the 24th St./Mission BART station... not exactly fine dining, but an "authentic" part of San Francisco culture.

Well, what can I tell you? I'll probably head to the Presidio for the craigslist party ...

It's not like there's any shortage of things to do ... for example, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art offers half-price admission from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Thursday evenings, and it's a short walk from the Montgomery or Powell St. BART stations. Check out the 010101: Art in Technological Times exhibit on the fourth floor. Decent food options in the area include Max's Diner at 3rd and Folsom and Cha Am (Thai) on Folsom just west of 3rd. Also of note: ThirstyBear Brewing Company on Howard, just east of 3rd.

I am unable to make it for tonight, but we have a reservation for 4 tomorrow night at 7:45 at Zuni.

Who would like to join us? Please e-mail me.

Sorry the table is so limited in size; difficult to get a larger table this late.

very fun mini FT gathering at Zuni cafe - thank dgolds and spiff for your persistence..

excellent wine (98 chardonnay from Santa Barbara) ; some confusion about what a martini is supposed to look like. (the waitstaff brought over a BROWN drink which we all 3 knew was wrong...) I had the gnocci with fresh baby root veretables which was superb and heard no complaints on the salmon. Desserts and cheese were rich and filling as they should be ..and conversation of course was lively and travel centered...

we need more mini events!
