Where will I go?

In just two short hours from now, I'll know how I'll be spending the next three years. For those of you who don't know what I'm speaking of, today is Match Day. All US senior medical students find out today (for the most part) where they will be doing their residency training for the next X number of years.

So many things to think about... connections and number of hub flights to and from my new home city, what local resturants participate with the dining, no power choice, more phone miles, what's the Admirals Club like, etc.

I'll be back to let you all know the answer soon...

burkey..Best of luck...I just came back from Dominica visiting my friends at Ross Medical School. I saw my first view of kind people who dedicated their bodies to medical students! Live where you have the most fun and try to fly AA! I am very happy for your success.

Thanks for the kind words from all of you. Well, the AA service is OK (no SJU or BOS service), I already met the Admirals Club folks while passing through for interviews, and the winters are SNOWY = delays, but for the important news:

It was my first choice, and I'm only one of two brand new housestaff in Internal Medicine - International Health at Case Western/MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio.

So here's to getting to know Cleveland and hopefully finding a place to live over the next few weeks won't be too terribely bad.

Congratulations. Glad to see that you made it through to what you want (speaking as a Medical School Gross Anatomy professor).

Congrats Dr. B. My mom lived in Cleveland as a teenager, so, given what she said about the town, I'm not surprised that they have an international specialty course.

What a coincidence that you are going to be Boarded in an area that affords travel. Now, about this pain in my side....
