I can only concur with Rudi and the others.
You can't please everyone, but 99.99999999%is pretty darn good. Focus on the good and ignore the bad. These people will all eventually go away but your friends will always be with you.

THANK YOU AND MEOWY THANKS TOO!!!

I give a big EIGHT PAWS UP To all of you and all my Flyertlalk Friends.

Thank you Dear Rudi, I bought a frame for your e-mail to me. I'm saving it and everytime i get upset I will look at it and taking ling's advice take a deep breath.

One of my new mottos )and the Commander's) will be:

I must ignore flaming threads.

EXCEPT: If it is against someone I care about. Then I will do it gracefully like Yaz jumping on top of the computer.

Arturo: If you were here in baltimore I would hug you an dbuy you a bottle of Jose Cuervo.
I shocked you into learning English!

Thank you all. I am "the richest person in the world" (James Stewart, 'It's a Wonderful LIfe," 1948.)

Catman - This is one of those times I regret only being able to check the "top" (@Talk) boards about once a week. Although I seldom do "ditto" posts, I would have been the first to echo Rudi. In sum:

1. Don't take it seriously.

2. Don't take it personally.

3. Don't stop being "you".

Never met the Catman, but I know he is a good man with a good heart. Your input and compassion on this board is appreciated. Hang in there.

You know the BlondeBomber's in your corner--who couldn't respect a guy who proudly wears cat hairs on his collar.

Remember, there's always a warm place to come to in Calgary (even in the middle of winter!).

An emphatic HEAR HEAR to this online petition! The FT community is severely diminished by missing one of our "elder statesmen"!

And KEEP THE CATCOP!

The Catcop is not some jack-booted thug looking to censor the board. It is akin to your spouse kicking you under the table when the taste in dinner conversation starts to go awry.

And this is coming from someone who (A) is a libertarian by nature, (B) has the shin bruises to know of what I speak re: spouse kicking you under the table.

As the only 5 TIME ACTING COMMANDER CATCOP, I have always felt proud when Mark has asked me to take the duty while he was out 'catting' around with other FlyerTalkers! But I am even prouder to say that Mark is a very good friend of mine!

I had the unexpected pleasure of meeting The Catman at SeaTac and we have been friends ever since. It was so much fun watching him drink his first dirty martini in Seattle and who can forgot the PIP?

Mark, hang in there and don't sweat the details. Just enjoy your friends and always know that you pretty much have a friend in each town!

Ditto to all the above.

Catman here's my philosophy (which I keep telling you, already)

"Always love your friends and have as much fun playing with them as possible. Always, ignore your enemies unless they try to steal your diamonds or your upgrades, or are trying to give you lots of money--then pay attention."

Drink good wine, eat good food, laugh a lot, learn a lot, dance a lot, and travel as much as you can. Save your fretting for the folks you really love.

Catman, you are the best! Had I not joined the get-together in Miami and had such a great time, it is a given that I would not have been in Montreal! Because of you, I went from being a lurker and a rare poster to being more involved as part of a wonderful group of flyers! Don't let the turkeys get you down. You live my motto, "If you can't do it right, don't do it at all."

Mark:

Without the Catman and Catcop FT would just be another clone of rec.travel.air. 98% of whats posted on r.t.a. consists of flames or posts that are not relative to the topic at hand. Catcop keeps us focused, and frankly without you FT just wouldn't be the same.

You've contributed greatly to the persona of FT, and I for one would be greatly disappointed if you allowed a couple of detractors to push you off FT. If you allow that to happen then the foxes will have taken over the henhouse (or cathouse, as the case may be )
