Time to press that delete message button folks!

I stumbled upon here last year (October?) via Insideflyer - one the few resources on the internet that provides one-stop comprehensive information on everything miles/point related. After lurking and wondering who/what the heck is "aurturo.nancy.emmet.sistertodd" I started posting.

What a terrfic group of people and great site!

I was sitting in First Class on a British Airways 747-400 when the steward came up to me and downgraded me to the very back of economy (seat 87-Z). Now I'm stuck with all you clowns.

Just kidding. I stumbled through the WebFlyer site and here I am... with friends.

You may find youself living in a shotgun shack (aka 4 Points Sheraton)
You may find yourself in another part of the world. With a beautiful wife. And a beautiful house.
You may say to yourself: This is not my beautiful wife (right - it's a stewardess). This is not my beautiful house (right again - it's the Park Hyatt)
And you may ask yourself: Well? How did I get here?

And I have not recollection other than my first time was about a year ago. Then I forgot about it & stumbled back upon the site in January from a WebFlyer link.

(apologies to David Byrne)

Cheers,

'toad

I already subscribed to Inside Flyer after seeing Randy on some T-V show (I think it was "Good Morning America") and there was a brief burb in "Inside Flyer" about this interactive forum called "FlyerTalk" plus word of a contest to answer a trivia question to win 1000 Click Rewards points.

I think it went for 2 weeks. Sistertodd annoyed me by posting repeatedly (I guess she's lost in cyberspace for too many posts!)
I won the last day with a question about how many miles it would take to get a business class ticket from Dublin to NYC. I was so happy, the only thing I ever won before was McDonald's French Fries (and a 90 percent scholarship to NYU!)

SO I got up the courage one day to ask a question and some responded and I posted some more and I guess after a year plus you all are letting me and my cat hair decorate your world.

Then JAWS and the boys started teasing me and for the first time in my life I did not run away hurt like I normally do. I realized (with the wisdom of Rudi and good buddy JAWS) that people who tease you without attacking you like you (I hear a Sally Field speech coming on!

Most people I know don't "get" FlyerTalk. Well I guess they are not interested in meeting a very facinating and classy and warm and friendly and supportive bunch like you all (Yes, you too arturo!)

Thank you!

I had been reading webflyer for quite some time (since before I got out of school, and more so after I got out of school since I had money to blow on tix) and frankly never really cared for 'net boards too much... but after a few visits I decided that it was a worthwhile board to frequent. Mainly because everyone was civil and friendly, and of course because there was some great advice to be shared...

I too have been reading WebFlyer for quite a while. Finally in May or June I decided to click on the FT icon. I was fascinated by the info and conversation and finally registered and posted in July.

I, too, also stumbled on FlyerTalk via Webflyer & found Webflyer through Yahoo (I think). I lurked a little bit for a while before I joined & I've loved it ever since! Where else can you get great information & virtually meet (also some in person) such a wonderful, myriad bunch of interesting people!

BTW 'Toad, I loved your "homage" to the Talking Heads! Very clever.

We have a winner! Thanks for 'getting' that, Anna. I was beginning to wonder if I was the only TH fan here!

I came across FlyerTalk after scrutinizing the WebFlyer website. I jumped right in and have never regretted doing so. I've been fortunate enough to have personally met a number of FT'ers and haven't met an axe-murderer yet...but then I haven't yet met Rudi or Catman!

I was invited to take a look at the site by PremEx. Glad he sent me the e-mail. Looks like a great group of people on here, and with a minimum of grousing to boot

I can't remember how I originally found WebFlyer.

I read it every month or two for a few months when I noticed the FlyerTalk link.

Tried it, liked it, been hanging out here ever since.
