I was clued into it by the announcements posted on the InsideFlyer site.
How did I find the InsideFlyer site? Darned if I remember - it was a lot time ago (in Web years)!
I've never recruited anyone as such, but I've mentioned the site to a few people I thought might be interested. I've never followed up to see if any of them visited it, registered or actually posted anything.

Efrem: Which button did you push to send your message eight times? I sure want to avoid that one. But talk about overkill!
I got here by responding to the "Thousand Point Tuesday Thousand Mile Thursday promotion." Haven't won yet, in miles or points, but I've sure won in increased understanding and in friendships (even though I've only met one other Flyertalker - Catman - face to face). I wonder, by the way, if any other regulars on here have ever won the Tuesday/Thursday Miles/Points?

Efrem:
Now I know what you did, and you didn't do it. When I first tried to send my comment, I got a "Can't connect" error message. Usually, that just means try again. So I tried again. Got the same message and tried again. Then I added to the message and tried a third time. That time it took, but, as you can see, all three tries took - but I didn't know it. Hail, Microsoft! Or whoever designs these things.
