I would be making up my mind faster but it seems I have to forgo something if I want moaty beer and I cannot decide what (if anything) gets the axe. I suppose I could go all jetlaggy right when I arrive Thursday afternoon, but that does not seem wise. Or I could wait until Sunday afternoon, but what if they run out?! See, these are heavy decisions, not to be made lightly.

"Easier" I think this would have been the shortest distance I've seen you travel for a Do!

Pretty much looks like we have to stick to the alternative program on Friday. I simply can't commit to a 1000€ bus tour with only 4 registrants so far.

Alternatively: a guided morning ("This is Nuremberg - a walk through history") and afternoon walking tour ("On the trails of Albrecht Dürer") in Nuremberg with a lunch visit to the Franconian beer festival in the moat.

When do you have to commit to it? I'm good for up to 150 €.

You said we had until May 20th!!

Is it a lack of interest or a lack of people actually submitting a confirmation? ... goes to do that now ...

I don't know. From an organizer point of view who does not charge any kind of prepayment and the fact that there are always people who register and might not turn up for various reasons I need to minimize the risk of covering their fees by myself upon last minute. As indicated previously I will calculate the effective cost of each activity a few days prior to the DO. The more people register the cheaper the activity gets. And I don't want to recalculate on the day of the event and recharge if people don't appear.

In the initial planning phase I thought to get between 15-20 attendees. Right now it looks more or less like 10-12.

For a walking tour that costs between 110 and 160€ I don't care that much, because the financial harm of one or two people dropping out is minimal. For a 1020€ tour with very few participants and a somehow high per person fee that looks a bit different (currently with 7 registrants - including myself - for the bus tour it would be 145€/person). Imagine someone drops out I would have to cover the 145€ by myself or charge every other participant 25€ extra ...

Of course registration is open until May 20 - However I can't wait till May 20 to decide whether to take the bus tour or the walking tours - as upon short notice it's difficult to get the specific walking tours confirmed at the desired day and time and the bus tour can't be booked upon short notice as well or cancelled upon short notice.

Anyways the alternative program would not be less interesting My main goal is to give every attendee an excellent time in Franconia.

On Monday I will mail all registrants for the bus tour and inform them about the calculated per person price. If everyone is fine with the price I will book the bus tour.

Hi everyone,
regarding the bus tour I have received fthree feedbacks so far. Only one who would do the tour for 169€.
Hence we need to work with the alternative program.

I could get the same guide that we already had at the Christmas Market DO and he is happy to offer these two tours:

morning tour: a fun and frivolous topic „Love, lust and vice - marriage and sexuality in the history of Nuremberg“
lunch break
afternoon tour: „Albrecht Dürer - on the trails of Nuremberg‘s most famous son“

I will setup the eventbrite registration up shortly for the two tours.

If someone is still around on Sunday afternoon we could visit Castle Cadolzburg which was part of the bus tour as kind of post-DO activity - if anyone is interested . (Bavarian Palace Department | Cadolzburg Castle | History)
