Looks OK since all of those flights we on which we are booked operated right thru the strike on Tuesday. AF is getting accustomed to handling this sort of stuff.

BTW, I note that Cappex, Governator, frantic, and I are arriving Wednesday. Anybody else?

I’m also taking the long circuit way to NUE (FRA-PHX/LAX-NRT/HND-FRA-STR-(train)-NUE) and will arrive Wednesday at 22:18 pm.
First night is at the Le Meridien, on Thursday I change to the Sheraton, where I stay until Sunday.

If you‘re still enjoying any bar and drinks around 22:30 pm, I will join you.
Otherwise we might see each other Thursday morning for breakfast at the LM.

I just thought of something which might be of interest for our international guests. Thursday is a public holiday, to be precise the Catholics are celebrating Corpus Christi (Fronleichnam in German) on this day. Even though Bavaria is mostly a Catholic region, Nuremberg itself (if I remember correctly) is historically a Protestant city.

I am mentioning this for two reasons.

1) this is going to affect all of you: Almost all shops will be closed all day! So no shopping whatsoever, not only in Bavaria, but in all predominantly Catholic states of Germany.
However, you can get some groceries at the Hauptbahnhof (the Central train station), they have a discounter (Lidl) on one of the lower levels (to the left as you enter through the main entrance) it is not hard to find.
I think it is open from 7am until 22pm. Just in case you want to buy some soft drinks, beer, snacks, fruits etc
All restaurants and fast food places will be open.

2) in case there are some Catholics amongst you or in case you are just interested in some local culture, you could go and see a Corpus Christi procession somewhere on Thursday morning. Usually the locals prepare a number of altars made from flowers along the route of the procession.

See you guys soon!

We like that bar and there is some chance that we will be there when you arrive. It all depends on how we come out of the trip since we do not recover as quickly as we did some years ago. However, breakfast for sure.

cann't tell for sure, but I checked a few self laundry stores and they are usually open on sundays. so that should be an indication that they are also open on a public holiday.

Good morning, All registrants should have received an eMail this morning with the detailed schedule/meeting points and their price to pay for the registered walking tours and/or the train ride to Regensburg.

Weather wise we expect some showers and thunderstorms on Friday morning - Saturday should be fine again. So you better bring an umbrella or rain jacket.

Looking forward to meeting everyone tonight.

DSB/DB have let me down so I will be later into NUE than I was expecting. Not sure if I will make it to drinks/dinner tonight. If I don’t I will see everyone tomorrow morning.
