My umbrella broke in the Munich winds yesterday at the Olympia Stadium. I'm sure I can find another one in Berlin.

Coat? What is a coat? Is that those things people wear when it gets below -40?

I think you are confusing a coat and long pants. Long pants on Beck= -40. Coat on Beck, never going to happen

Well Autumn has struck Britain so my coat and brolly will probably need drying before I pack them. I'll see you all on Friday evening, can't wait (and with all i've got going on this week i'll be needing a few drinks by then...)

If you are thinking of buying a €7 day ticket for each day of your stay in Berlin and planning to visit a museum or two (or other attractions) it might be worth considering a Berlin Welcome Card.

I have a little over 72 hours between my arrival and departure, so a 72-hour card seems ideal. At €27.50 I only save 50 cents but I can get a 25+% discount at various museums. If you are planning to visit Potsdam it will cost €2 extra.

A 4-day card costs €31.50 but only covers 4 calendar days. A 72-hour card seems like a better value.

If you order a Berlin Welcome Card online you have to print a PDF file but you can also buy one at the airport on arrival.

Get up early, go to EMBASSY. Stand in queue. It's Tuesday. You might not be screwed. Forget any holiday plans for now. Good
Luck.

I lost mine in CHC a couple of years ago and it was fairly painless to get it replaced at the consulate in AKL (yes, AKL--WLG is a non-consular embassy). I'd suggest calling them and seeing if they can shoe you in--clearly this is an emergency situation, so I can't imagine they'd turn you down.

The UK issues an emergency passport in this circumstance, with only one visa page. Pretty expensive too. And you don't get to keep it after you use it to enter the UK.

But when you consider the price per page, perhaps the most valuable!
