Sorry to be late but I wasn't around my computer much over the weekend. Anyway, great time was had by this guy, thank you to everyone who made my birthday special and I'm sorry I left early but you'll be happy to know I got to LA in one piece. Also, the picture of us at dinner didn't come out well but I like the us at breakfast shot:

And of course, thank you again to our amazing host. Never has a flock been so well shepherded on a Do. ^

We had a really delightful time, and are feeling warm, albeit platonic feelings for boxo. ;-> Sorry my brood were not able to stay for the Sunday festivities, too. I'm just glad that the Saturday weather cleared up right around the time I predicted, as that was very handy for the Point Lobos expedition.

Love Epison Fine Greek Restaurant, in particular. (Lamb shanks FTW.)

Yes, visiting the monarch butterfly refuge in PG is always worthwhile. My family owned a house and spare cottage a couple of blocks from there for many years, so I know the area really well.

(Flashback: I spent part of a summer renovating the Pacific Grove rental house and cottage for my Mom in the late 1970s / early 1980s, and one evening after a tiring day of painting, I stopped for the day and went to a family cinema on Lighthouse Ave., PG, to see a film I'd never heard of by an obscure director, in a cozy venue with a good mix of kids and adults.

It was 'Raiders of the Lost Ark'. Try to imagine seeing that with no expectations in the company of just about the perfect crowd.)

Covering much of the hilly space atop the Montery Peninsula, uphill from urbanised Montery proper, is the Del Monte Forest, extending down into the toney gated community of Pebble Beach. One of the many charms of the area is just wandering along paths through the forest. You can start from one of many access points outside Pebble Beach and avoid having to deal with either the PB entrance fee or the sign-your-rights-away liability waiver. It's ethereal,
especially when the fog rolls in.

Thanks to you all for your kind words. DOs aren't DOs unless people show up, so give yourselves a big pat on your backs.

Right you are. An email reminder came today I have a San Francisco staycation coming up this weekend! I will let you know if I do go and we can coordinate a rendezvous or drop-off point.

Now let's see if I can figure out how to make the pictures on my phone go *here*. I think a cloud may be involved...

Here is are a few one photos. It's been a long, long while since I've used my Photobucket account and they've switched things up, so I'm slogging through to get these resized and out. The resizing on some all but one are NOT sticking, but remaining BIG. Imabouttoscream.

Hopefully the pics on my camera are better than the smartphone's. Majuki, I forgot to text you at a decent hour last night, so I'll PM you. Are you and my camera available to meet Tuesday late afternoon/evening?
