One spot left? I think I can join you if it's still avail. NCAA basketball wipes out east coast Sunday news broadcast, so I think I can stretch my "lunch" break to 5pm.
The restaurant has 40+ Belgian beers available, but corkage is available for $25 if anyone prefers wine and isn't tempted by their list. |
I'd try joining tomorrow. Though, I have a dinner tonight in a spanish place.
Edit: I see you have full table, take me out... problem solved :D |
Well, be sure to report back if your Spanish meal is any good. Perhaps we can revisit the place when we reach the S's in 8 years or so. :)

It was very tasteful!
If you have space, I'd come and tell you all about it today. If not, I am doing tech support on ms. dlroads' computer 'farm' :D |

I can't guarantee the restaurant will have space for another, but you're welcome to stop by and try your luck.
Hope to soon join in on a future dining adventure |
What time would you like to meet at the Himalayan Yak? I'll be in Midtown until about 7 PM so I should be able to get there at about 8 earliest

I can do 8:00 if that works for you. Anyone else want to join us? |
A quick rundown on the next 2 stops:
We're shuffling the order a bit to accomodate akelkar's visit to NY, so the Bhutan meal will be this Saturday night, April 5, 8:00pm at Himalayan Yak in Jackson Heights (Queens). The restaurant is primarily Tibetan/Nepali, but the Bhutanese national dish is on the menu. I read somewhere recently that the Bhutanese represent one of New York's smallest immigrant populations (<100 people), so I'm excited to have found even one of their dishes on a menu. I'll be making a reservation later today or tomorrow, so let me know if we should count you in. The following Saturday (April 12) we backtrack to Belize with the Garifuna Day street festival in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx. Eating in Translation, a great blog if you're interested in international cuisine, has a recap of the 2011 festival here . |
I'm in on Saturday.

We are expecting to try a couple of Belizean dishes at the Garifuna Day festival in the Bronx tomorrow. The location is ~344 Brook Avenue, between 141st & 142nd Streets. We plan to arrive at noon, but the festival runs from 11-6.
