Welcome to our seemingly monthly gathering of ANC Flyertalkers. This may be our last gathering before our adventure to ADQ. Below are some updates:
  • beckoa should begin grilling around 7
  • It will not snow
  • Leftovers from Franklin are welcome
  • Enjoy 20+ hours of daylight

Le Menu

  • beckoa: grilled asparagus & Rainier Cherries
  • BOB W: Bourbon basted Salmon & Tri-tip along with steamed veggies
  • Mackieman: A Mess 'o Smashed Taters
  • Doc Savage: A Batch o' Beer
  • GoAmtrak: Beer & something sweet
  • ParanoiaTX:
  • ANC RED-EYE: muktuk...ok, maybe more dessert.
  • Jazon256: Alaska Summer Ale (I'm sensing a theme here)
  • AKronin: Spectacular salad

Perfect, looks like the bus from downtown would get me there by 7:30.

All I'll be renting is a bicycle downtown. Also, as a non-car-owner who always has to add SLI coverage to the rental, the math is less favorable for me. Still appreciate the suggestion, though. ^

I'm sure any or all of us flying out can share a cab back to ANC if needed.

ParanoiaTX and I will have a car and can give rides. We're staying at the Sheraton and plan on going to see some stuff during the day, though.

Looks like I should be able to make it after all, though I have a red eye to SFO that night for a conference, so I won't be able to stay too late.

And I'd be happy to bring beer from my kegorator if desired, currently have the excellent Alaskan Summer Ale on tap

Most of the group are on redeyes about the same time you are.

Glad you can make it. Some kind of snack for after dinner fire pit relaxation would be good.

Well we wouldn't want the beer to go flat while you're out of state

This is turning into quite the event

And thanks for updating the wiki- I'm liking that feature more and more ^

If any ANC folks would like to join the "afterparty" on UA525 ANC-SFO, both cabins are wide open and the $99 N fare is in effect.

I would be happy to turn over salad duties to AKronin. I'll do some steamed veggies.

beckoa, if you join them, I'll even donate an RPU to the cause if it'll make you quit talking about how much UA sucks even though you've never flown them.

Dang... if it was on Monday I'd do it. (Cuz SFO has the best Chinatown in the USA!)

Have to work on Sunday

:-: This is turning into something epic... mini no longer

I'm thinkin' some grilled veggies like asparagus might be a good addition (will secure myself unless someone objects). Just don't want to have too much on the fire (but need to get into training for the ADQ DO) :-:
