SIN DO 2014, January 16-20, 2014 Singapore
SIN DO 2014 is going to be the 12th anniversary for this DO. It will take place during January 16-20, 2014 and will be hosted by bschaff1 and lowjhg. I’ll be coordinating the attendance list and lowjhg and I will be working on the logistics for the events. For the past two years lowjhg has been invaluable in helping plan and coordinate events locally. To begin, a dinner will kick off the DO on Thursday January 16 and the DO will go through the early morning hours on Monday, January 20 (perhaps at a party).
SIN DO 2013 turned out to be a good deal larger than expected. In the past it was a 55-60 person event and in 2013 the number was somewhere between 75-80 attendees so I’m hoping for 100 in 2014.
I’m going to wait before posting an official schedule of events, but we’re going to keep the Chili Crab dinner and Friday late night hawker center trip with a similar schedule and almost all new/different dining venues. Also, for 2014 we have two plans in the work for something aviation related on Friday and travel related on Saturday. Those details are a few months out. Details will emerge on all the events once it’s practical to coordinate them. However, the dates are firm and the hawker center trip will be on Friday night and Chili Crab dinner will be on Saturday.
Additionally, we are going to be making a few changes with logistics for 2014. First, for attendance tracking post or PM if you will be attending for now. I’ll put together a live spreadsheet to track this information in the coming weeks. For transportation we’re going to try arranging buses to some events because having 20 people take taxis from the same hotel wastes time and money.

Thursday Night
7:30 PM: Dinner at Kopitiam on Keong Saik Rd. (Chinatown Area) infoworks has volunteered to organize this. I'll be tracking the number of attendees for this event.
Friday
9:00 AM: Singapore Airlines Event. Preregistration is required this, so PM me ASAP to be added.
1:00 PM: Lunch at Blue Ginger, 97 Tanjong Pagar Road
7:30 PM: Cocktails at Mogambo. 03 Canton Street, Boat Quay
Midnight: Hawker Center Visit where we will meet up with the arrivals coming in at midnight. This year the event will be at the Newton Hawker Center.
Saturday
9:30 AM: Day trip to Malaysia. We'll be crossing over at Johor Bahru. We'll meet in the Grand Hyatt lobby at 9:30 AM.
1:00 PM: Lunch/Brunch possible in Singapore. If anyone would like to organize this, please PM me.
Afternoon: Tiger Beers at someplace along Boat Quay. If anyone would like to organize this, please PM me.
8ish PM: Jumbo Seafood at Dempsey Hill. Chili Crab dinner and there will be non seafood options available also.
After Dinner reception going no later than 4:00 AM.
Sunday
10:00 AM: Recreational event at Singapore Botanical Gardens If anyone wants to do some running during this let me know.
1:00 PM, Lunch at Roti Ptata House. 246 Upper Thompson Road.
8:00 PM, Dinner at Straits Kitchen at the Grand Hyatt. Expect the cost to be around $60sgd for dinner.
Monday
Maybe an early lunch for those interested in it. Otherwise, take the party flight to the Post DO.
