DC Restaurant week is 12-18 Aug. Any interest here, especially lunch or brunch?

I'm interested, though out of town until late on the 13th.

I am available the 14th through 16th.

I'll be in town that week so following with interest.

Looks like inflation has reared its ugly face. Now that I'm retired, I prefer lunch because dinner tends to be too much food. Most of the $25 lunches are salads or pasta dish. Boring !!! After tax and gratuity, a $55 dinner is $70. I'll pass on dinner. There are a few venues that I would consider for the $25 lunch in no particular order.
Brasserie Liberte China Chilcano Fiola Mare Ottoman Taverna - no special menu yet Ris All of these venues are Metro/walking accessible since I hae no car. Alexandria's restaurant week looks more interesting and different price points. Also longer, 16-25 Aug. See below. https://visitalexandria.com/restaura...staurant-week/ |

https://patch.com/virginia/oldtownal...-beer-festival "Port City Brewing Company will host its inaugural Port to Port Beer Festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17. Fourteen breweries, including local favorites like Lost Boy Cider and Mieza Blendery and out-of-state businesses like Orlando's Sideward Brewing and Athens, Ohio's Jackie O's Brewing Company, will participate." |
Damn. If I weren't going to be on the wrong coast, I would have come down for that.

Something's come up, so I can't make anything midweek unfortunately...

tentative DC area visit 28-30 Oct
Mrs767 and I are currently planning to be in NoVA Mon 28-Wed 30 Oct (depart IAD morning of Thu 31)
we'll have a car and will be staying in the Falls Church area |
I accidentally booked a six-hour layover this Saturday afternoon at DCA, 1400-2000 hours. Would be happy to leave the airport to meet up, or alternatively I can guest someone into an Admirals Club.

For the first time in many years, I'm visiting DC for a few days next February on vacation. I really, really don't do formal, so you'll more likely find me in a bar one evening, but if there were any interest I'd be happy to chat to any members about Flyertalk and how both they and I feel about the direction of the site.
|
I will be out near IAD Fri/Sat and was thinking of checking out some of the microbreweries west/south of the airport, if anyone is interested in meeting up...
