I screwed up. I left my laptop at home by accident (though I did remember the charging cable). And now my room will not be ready until 1400. So I an going to find a light lunch somewhere nearby. I am staying at the Residence Inn Navy Yard-Ballpark, which is drastically under construction (to the point I had to ask if the hotel was open). At least my NUA went through!

I just looked up 3 nearby restaurants I wanted to recommend, all of which are now closed for one reason or another. But Silver Diner is open — they have great salads etc in addition to more traditional diner fare.

Sorry I missed this. Just returned from San Juan. Hope it was a good time!

It was! Fascinating conversation, especially hearing from Long Train Runnin about his travel exploits. (I'm kicking myself today for not asking how he manages to stay employed while spending that much time away.)

Nothing that exciting I assure you. A lot of it was the good ol'd days working for a Europe based company that believed in harmonizing our PTO. These days I work at a mega corp, and abuse the "unlimited" PTO as best I can.

How was Bluejacket Brewery? I have been staying at the Thompson DC recently, and expect to be back at some point.

I certainly wouldn't complain about going back!

I think most of us enjoyed it. The beer ranged from fine to good, and the trout I had was great.
