Hope your race went well and you have many more to come!
I've run 13 marathons all in Canada and the US. #14 is a couple of weeks away (Las Vegas) and my 2nd Boston is in April 2011. The prospect of a European marathon is very interesting.

I'm a walker. I do the 60 Mile breast cancer walks. You could always run 5 or 6 miles ahead of me, and have a Starbucks waiting when I get there

I didn't even know such a race existed, but it sounds great. I'm from NE PA and go back about twice a year to visit family. Always wanted to do the Steamtown Marathon, but things have just never worked out. Early May near Allentown should be beautiful, and I'm looking for an excuse to get out of this area that weekend anyway .

I did the Phoenix (what locals call the PF Chang's) Marathon in 2009, and as yet contemplating doing it again in 2011. It is a RnR race, and what they charge is on the verge of robbery. But I'd have an apples-to-apples comparison. It is a great course, well-supported, great cheer squads, bands, etc. And the people who live on the course make the most of it, many set up tables and hand out orange slices.

Right now, I'm scheduled to do the Fiesta Bowl Half in Scottsdale, AZ on 12/5. It may be difficult to believe, but I've never done a half, nor any other running race other than my full. If this goes well, it will push me to register for Phoenix, and possibly Philly for next fall.

On a similar note, I'd love to do the Waikiki Roughwater Swim. Any other open-water/distance swimmers on the board? I tolerate pool swimming as a necessary evil, but really enjoy getting out where you can see things.

You may want to look over on Omni, there's an Omni Exercise Blog. Do a search for my handle in the Omni forum and you should find it.

We have discussed a Runners Do in the past and also had some ideas, but somehow it never happened (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/commu...unning-do.html).

I am interested as well, however flying over the pond needs for me a bit more planning, so do not count on me. But for once, I will subscribe to this thread.

I did a 60K Saturday in Central Park, 8 plus loops, 37.5 miles, took me almost 9 hours so I guess I am a runner.

I've only done one marathon (Amsterdam 2008) and haven't done much running since...with 40 pounds gained ever since. Time to hit the jogging paths again.

It's a very scenic course through several parks including the Lehigh Parkway, which Runner’s World magazine has listed as one of the top 100 places to run in the country and it includes a stadium finish.
Just registered for this! Let me know if anyone else is in.

Wonder if the fact that Runner's World magazine is based near Allentown has anything to do with them recommending this race...

Used to Run

I used to run in HS and college, and a year or two post college.

Now my GF has the bug.

I am still around it often though as I time road races for a living. If any FT'ers are out in Seattle area we've got plenty of races. A rrunning Do might get me motivated to get back into shape...

Austin Feb 20

I forgot about this thread until earlier today or I would have mentioned that I was running in NYC a few weeks ago. I'm going to try to run a half marathon every month, though I haven't really mapped out which ones I'll do. Giving myself an out in case I change my mind.

Anyway, I'll be in Austin the weekend of Feb 20 for the Livestrong marathon & half if anyone else is around.

I've done a 6,400 mile run each weekend in January .... in fact, I did two runs on MLK weekend. But I guess those don't count, huh?

Anyway, I am a good cheerer and clapper (this is not OMNI -- so not comments about me having the clap!). So, if this DO is in Calif, I would be glad to come and encourage all of you!

What do you know about the Sacramento marathon? Have any friends who've done it? Good course, support?

I'm looking for a fall marathon. I have a lottery entry (my first) for New York, but also thinking of others just in case. Thinking of Philly, the DC/Marine (but I'd have to register for that not knowing about NYC), and I noticed Sacramento is fall too (and an easy flight to SMF from PHX).

I have run 6 marathons (all since 2002)of which 4 are Marine Corp Marathons in DC. I have done none since been posted to Beijing in the fall of 2008 (bad air quality) but still run short runs (5 to 10Ks) regularly in the gym....

Be happy to participate a 1/2 Marathon DOs if schedule works.
